This morning I read news in GSM arena saying that galaxy s2 and note wilk get ics in march. And galaxy tabs will get it after that. Maybe sometime in April or June.

But don't wait for the official update.they are often slow. I hope cyanogen will be faster.

i got my 7510 updated to 3.2 last night

I've tried it and it's AWESOME !! even though its only beta and the camera doesn't work, it's really snappy especially since it's a vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich without Touchwiz. Compared to the tab running overcome and overclocked the kang ICS performs way better. To be fair I only have 1/3 of the apps installed though but at the very least navigation on the home screen and menus are instantaneous and doesn't lag like before, even when rotating between landscape/portrait.

the whole interface has been skinned on the Galaxy Tab. To know how vanilla honeycomb looks like go to the nearest Harvey Norman or whichever that has different variant of tablets on display and try it. The most vanilla honeycomb would be the Motorola Xoom I believe.

When ICS comes out for the Galaxy Tab it will look exactly the same as it does now. The TouchWiz UI remains, only the internals are changed for better performance etc. To the end user there will not be a drastic change.

haven't really tried HD videos. When you mean HD are you talking about 720p or 1080p ? On overcome and pershoot kernel I can play 720p videos without any issues using DICE player (the best player so far !!) Will try and see how it is on ICS. Compass accuracy means I need an actual compass to compare the reading to ? 

No need,  just use any android phone and install any compass.Of yourself also can sense the direction at 7am where is sun rise.
The tab really having problem with the accuracy , they read the sun rise at the west.
on this forum , there are a few member tested also having this kind of problem , not sure whether it's the HC 3.1 or the hardware issue.
Still need a lot of people to test to make some confirmation.I hope most of the owner new willing to help and test because if it's an hardware issue , it must be fix.

dint notice this before, i download super compass from market and tried.
the tab really pointing at the wrong direction.

the same app on my android phone point to the correct north,
the sun is now shining from the east side. (the way it should be)

but on the tab, it thinks that West is North.
the red needle that is suppost to point at North, is pointing at west, on the tab.

strangely, gps software like sygic is working,
maybe a wrong compass wont affect navigation?

by the way i'm on overcome rom, 3.2

1) Size : There are 10.1, and other tablet size such as 7inches to consider...
2) Weight : If you want lightest of 10.1, this is best...
3) Performance : Test it out yourself. Compare with others...
4) Price : quite similar among all....

It definitely can work - tested on my Sandisk, Kingston, DNA and Kingmax Sd cards up to 32 GB
Kingston thumb drives 16 GB, USB Philips harddrive 120 GB
All must be in Fat32 format

For usb hd prefarably you need the usb hd be powered on. For smaller hd up to 120gb I have tested no need additional power but transfer is slow
Nowadays most hd are 320gb n above and if these do not have port to power it than surely cannot work
And the usb hd must being fat32 format

Slow ? I though usb speed is around 15 MB/s to 20 ? USB 2.0 right ?
External is 320GB guess it's hard to power up , need external source power.
Curious possible with ext4 format ?

1. What should and able to check for defected galaxy tab ?
eg: sound , screen death pixel ? what else of common problem having on galaxy tab which can be check on spot before purchasing it ?

2. He plan to buy at Senq and survey on other electric shops but some mention 1 and a half years warranty , some 2 years , some 1 years and  he's confuse.
SME or SEP ?

3. Normally found some lowyat forumer at garage sale selling cheaper price 1899 and 1499 below but worry of AP .How to check ?

4. Does the tab suitable for ebooks reading ? sharp as Ipad ? I dont have Ipad so i can't answer this question

6. Recommending a good anti gray screen protector which to sharp ?

As for my opinion ....

1. Bought it and never check...coz Samsung's QC convinced me.....huhuhhu......maybe sifu² here can answer to that....

2. Seng Heng at Usj taipan offered 2 years warranty if u pay extra money for installment ....1 year from SME + 1 year from Seng Heng....

3. bought gt 10.1 for my wife from 1 guy at lowyat.net....as he said, every ori set has a E-warranty card from SME and which need to register by sms....other than that, not sure....,correct me if wrong....so far, i got ori set from that guy....

4. Yes it does have e book and after 3.2 honeycomb released, it has another application called "reader hub" which combining e books, e magazine and newspaper.....and sad thing is not free....trial for a week only if u use newspaper for free.....sharp as ipad? Who cares as long u can read it.....

5. I think there is 3rd party selling those HDMI cable since user here discussed about memory card reader can be use other than Samsung's ori sd card reader....not sure if it's work or else.....if not, surely has a solution ....

6. Errrr.......currently not using any screen protector....gt 10.1 itself using Gorilla glass is a clear and tough glass which does not get scratches easily and it is used as a display in some phones....so, when im at outside, definitely i'll use case....so far, not even get any scratches ....

7. Can fine any where nowdays...even at lowyat plaza there has plenty of it....got hard, soft cover also liao....depending on ur fren interest...

8. Yes it has bluetooth keyboard functional ....Samsung itself has came out with their own bluetooth keyboard....cost around RM150 here Pearl International Mall old klang road but not sure on other shop....mouse? If can be use, why bother to use mouse while ur fren just can tab with fingers?

nope.. different architecture.. unless windows 8 release an ARM version, there are prototypes for it but we need to wait till ppl at xda to manage to port it over.. however i dont think our tab current's hardware is sufficient yet.. i would like to port to windows 8 to try as well, but samsung do have tablets that run windows OS.. samsung slate..
usb extender may not work for charging due to the amp restriction. it may charge, but very very slow. best is still use the original charger, and yes, i do hate the short cable.

1. no significant difference IMO, cz i m using a RM80 SP, but somehow still doesn't work as good as it claims. regret purchase.

2. leather case i will suggest melkco, very durable and premium finish.

3. only one at a time.

4. yes, but may vary depending on the usb hub model. if the hub consumes too much power, then "high power device connected" notice may occur.
latest for our tab 10.1 still 3.2.. the ICS for tab 10.1 is not official yet, will get it after s2 and note..
