Sorry for the noobness, I thought it just another app like titanium backup. Google it up, turn out it just a term for full system backup, haha.

"If you need to restore some system data , eg messages, contacts etc – choose ” restore all system data” : UNSELECT all and only tick those system apps you need , example you can restore back the Launcher data where you have setup all your homescreen."
Taken from your site, if I want to do the above, should I use titanium backup or CWM?
*
Nandroid backup in CWM will backup your OS whereas titanium only backup your apps. As simple as that.

Simple -SGS II is overall a better performer than GNex. I believe with ICS enabled it will surpass the GNex further
Only issue SGS II is "hotter" in operation  versus the Gnex , so greater battery drain
*
haiyo even sgs2 non G and G unit also hotter and battery drain faster than GNex ???
oh well then, since nothing is perfect
will still go for GNex biggrin.gif

@unclebenny, do you set any profiles with setcpu? if yes what profiles do you set? I was thinking of setting it to 350min 350max when screen off to save battery but afraid I'll get sleep of death sweat.gif
*
Yes. Lowest is 350 as is control by the kernel. On my g note i go to even 100mhz as lowest
I set profile for screen off; charging, temp >;50, battery <25 these highest cpu i set at 800mhz
At 350mhz lowest will never get sod. Max i suggest at least 500mhz

Guys, do our phone need to be root first for volume+ to work properly. I've installed volume+ but there is no difference in my speaker volume. My ringtone is so soft compare to my previous SE phone and I'm using the exact same ringtone
*
Volume+ solved my soft speaker volume problem, after i

1) Changed the music setting

AND

2) Rebooted my phone

Hope this help

Mine is working fine. Tried with my iPod earphone and the quality is great. You might want to check the sound setting when playing the music to make sure the equalizer is ON.

Guys, I've done unlocking, rooting and install CWM.
But my phone now is like brand new phone with all my apps and setting gone.
Do I need to restore the nandroid backup to get back all my setting?
If I restore it, will my phone be locked and unroot?

Hi all,

I notice that my GNex will become uncomfortably warm/hot after only 10-20 minutes of moderate usage (temperature rising from 85 F to 110 F , measured by battery info. widget), something that i had never experienced with my iphone(3gs) for the past 2 years.

This is my first Android phone, and i am still with stock 4.0.1

I wonder if this is normal or i actually got a faulty unit.

Your feedback is most appreciated.

You restore from your nandroid backup you get back exactly what you have in the first place
Restore your stuff from titanium backup if you have done it before you flash

Utube music file was compressed so the quality is so so. Try download at least 256kbps mp3 or the best 512kbps mp3 file, you'll be suprised.

First time you unlock bootloader everything including viewable part of internal sd is wipe clean. Subsequent flash will not wipe the viewable partition only hidden partition
So just copy back your wipe stuffs back. Next time you flash rom no need to do this again

Thanks sifu, so any recommended rom?
I'm thinking of flashing stock 4.0.2 first, try it for few days and then go to custom rom.
Some of custom roms are based on 4.0.3, do I need to flash to 4.0.3 first before flash these roms.
From google website, there is no 4.0.3 stock rom yet
