QUOTE(phelix @ Jan 27 2012, 04:54 PM) Regular usage and I don't know how it caused.... please use sp whenever u got the phone. Hair line scratches right? Hmm yeah differs from person to person the way they use.Cheap one also use first else u regretted like me. Assuming the scratches not very obvious unless under direct light and u angle it around? |

Ah yea, didn't consider that. Shoot this is a weird system to bypass the lock thingie. Y don't they use credentials stored in phone; y need to connect pula x.x
Maybe give it a go? Nothing to lose right, shoving another sim and see if data miraculously turns on |

QUOTE(gurpreetsingh @ Jan 30 2012, 01:54 PM) I have reflashed stock rom....I have taken long time back backup with gnex toolkiit and titanium...I wont get full restore but atleast some points.. this feature of gnex is so buggy..what if anyone plays with your fone...u have to reflash haha...wtf QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Jan 30 2012, 02:08 PM) ^buggy? It's not a bug, that's what will happen when someone steals your phone. Wiping the phone of all data is the security mechanism. You wouldn't want a thief to bypass a security lock that easily, would you? It's a flaw imo. That's the point of the google login, backup mechanism ma. Weird that you actually need data for it, should take the credentials u store when u add the account to your phone |

QUOTE(0204 @ Jan 30 2012, 03:57 PM) As in when the phone is locked out, prompt for gmail should be matched against what is already stored in the phone ma, no? Rather than contacting server.Or to do that would expose the sensitive data? Don't see how wo, you're still locked out unless you know the password. Same as contacting server for verification, just alternative to contact internal of phones instead. What about ppl without data plan for instance. Or were on flight mode/no data mode prior to phone locking out |

QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Jan 30 2012, 04:11 PM) Authentication with GMail is done through server. That means if you change your GMail password online, you'll need to re-enter it on the phone again. No passwords are stored on the phone (IINM). Permissions are granted, and that's all. Ah, guess the whole permissions and not storage of password thing makes sense.Android (or smartphones as a whole) are data-based in its very core. Setting up a Google account on the device itself involves a data connection. There will be an endless debate about security vs legitimate regaining of device. All I can say is, educate friends about playing with password protection. Added on January 30, 2012, 4:17 pmDAMN. Just found out there's currently no way to play FM radio on the Galaxy Nexus. Only way is to stream via internet. Spirit FM doesn't work. Dang... |
