MT actually more reliable.
-peek underneath is there rust on the driveshafts.
-check the suspensions, shock absorbers for any leak - is the ride ok, comfortable?
-pop up the bonnet, engine should not be vibrated during idling, any wear sounds, squeaks;faulty ingition coil or spark plug cables will lead to severe jerks during drive/idling - smell of unburn petrol in the exhaust.
-got hard to to start prob? TDC/crank sensor - try this when drive slowly at 2nd gear - ur car shouldn't have jerking when nearing 1000 rpm from higher rpm.
-check if there any leak from the coolant hose, brakes, power steering - look out for stains.
-check the health of the coolant system from the expansion tank - should not have rust color coolant/water.
-check the interiors for any broken plastic etc
-temperature gauge 3 bar all the time...should not exceed 3 bar.

bro hypermount, has any savvy owner change the AMT to Auto? Was thinking of either converting to Auto or replacing the engine with Kangoo Auto.

i dun think its the head engine gasket.. probably some gasket near the thermostat location but its at the middle..

450 for me is expensive but rsauto too full with cars, so no choice..
no white smoke (thats engine oil burn sign right)..
only lotsa coolant wetting the floor or tarmac when i park the car @ the coolant in reservoir also drop down need to top up..

*owh, just remembered.. RS Auto @ mr ho suggest me change head block / engine block instead of change gasket.. easier job for him he said so.. cost roughtly rm1000+.. after that i straight away go to my friend to repair..

I still can't get what you mean though lol, where is the gasket?.... if white smoke, water vapour - coolant is burning..engine oil burn is blue smoke, is piston rings need to change.

is it the valve cover seals?

My thermostat also broke leading to coolant loss...but luckily still can drive to nearby workshop..so far the cooling is working fine working fine like normal.

go to my friend, he see some leaking coolant at engine.. i didnt see it since he did the repairing straight..

i did not have idea on engine build so sorry.. lower gasket? middle gasket? head gasket i know..

well at least u said its reasonable.. than is more then good for me..

better follow the road that easier for you later.. bout the non tubro, sure there is toyota engine that have same mounting as the 4E engine.. need to search and i'm sure they (JPJ) can let the car on road if say " AMT kong".. just the engine mount fabrication, need to send to a very well known shop (somewhere in kajang/bangi).. search for rackvamp in savoc.net for details regarding the shop..

most of owners that change the engine will go toward turbo route cause, if not for performance, u can get powerful pikup and less fc compare with normal..

rear brake cylinder (both sides) = 38 x 2 = RM76..
Koyo rear wheel bearings both side is RM72.

I see the Renautech from other owners list of service only clean throttle body..

Make sure they clean both TDC sensor and throttle body.

Dirty throttle body only gives minimal impact compare to the TDC sensor.

My wife Savvy very difficult to start every morning, once start then no problem, any idea why? Just need to change starter?
