QUOTE(hypermount @ Jun 25 2012, 02:04 PM) is it manual or AMT - for AMT now savoc.net got the guide how to fix the AMT components rathen than replace the whole set worth if few Ks.
MT actually more reliable. -peek underneath is there rust on the driveshafts. -check the suspensions, shock absorbers for any leak - is the ride ok, comfortable? -pop up the bonnet, engine should not be vibrated during idling, any wear sounds, squeaks;faulty ingition coil or spark plug cables will lead to severe jerks during drive/idling - smell of unburn petrol in the exhaust. -got hard to to start prob? TDC/crank sensor - try this when drive slowly at 2nd gear - ur car shouldn't have jerking when nearing 1000 rpm from higher rpm. -check if there any leak from the coolant hose, brakes, power steering - look out for stains. -check the health of the coolant system from the expansion tank - should not have rust color coolant/water. -check the interiors for any broken plastic etc -temperature gauge 3 bar all the time...should not exceed 3 bar. Thanks bro, help a lot I'll mark it down and check one by one when I get the car I go for MT
