Hi guys, I just sent my car for 35k service and told them about my 1st gear jerk issue. They told me my ignition coil has to be replaced and they quoted me RM700! Can I get it done somewhere else without fearing that my warranty will be voided?
*
better to get the original. others selling outside wont last as long but i change mine almost every 2 years.

Its ok bro, as long as you maintain it properly and only bring to Renault specialists, it will not give you headache. It is a fact that its maintenance is a bit costlier compared to cheap cars (Kancil, etc) since you get "better" ride and quality as well in the general sense. Good choice on manual, because the AMT gives the Savvy bad reputation.

@pseudo, better for you to go to a "knowledgeable mechanic with renault engine" rather then mechanic that say he can repair but in the end the problem getting worser.. normal oil change can be made at any shop providing u bring the oil and oil filter, and make sure they have tool to open the oil sump nut (or best if the shop can suck out the oil).. just need to travel a bit farther (subang) to get the car back to healthy state..

@death_nite, need to ask in savoc (fb).. got mechanica that own savvy there..

hey guys, i am just curious about the headlight lenses. The orange indictor lenses, how do you make them clear instead of orange? Is there a way for DIY? or do you have to replace the whole lamp? And is it accepted by JPJ? lotsa questions sorry haha

Look at DIY smoked headlamps and angel rings thread in savoc.net...therr is a transparent orange plastic piece that can be taken out...not so hard actually, just need patience.

well, wear and tear is showing their effect.. car already reach 150000km at the time the gasket leak.. radiator coolant sip out, air sip in.. so cooling efficiency kaput.. totally thermostat didnt work @ water jacket (engine block did not have coolant to cool down) thus temp skyrocket up to 6 bar in few minute.. already change moto fan that time.. always need to air bubble the cooling system.. water jacket totally empty within few minute of driving.. temp solution remove thermostat @ spring kinda thing.. so that water alway flowing.. but did not happy with the solution so end up open engine change gasket.. so labour and gasket rm450.. gasket itself is 120++ (forgot already)..

idk.. need proper mechanic since d4f is expensive to repair / replace part.. worry later kena tiaw / pancung kepala..
did my car at my friend under tree workshop..

now got lil bit problem left.. temp abnormal when aircond not on.. 4 bar.. seem the heat sensor also asking replacement.. still dint have time to go check with PDT first before change..

thanks hypermount smile.gif But to be clear, what do is take the headlamps out like how do they do so to install angel eyes, and I take the orange plastic out? This is in no way against JPJ law or anything right?
