So you mean, i have to first back up my JB apps.
Then upgrade itunes to 10.6.1. Then JB with JB 5.0.1 ya?

you can not backup jb tweaks/ apps (those from cydia) because itunes will not backup those.

the most you can do is to backup a list.

you still have to download again all before jb.

if ur current version is 4.xx then pls think before u upgrade to ios 5.1

many ppl encounter problem after jb in ios 5.1 for iphone 4...

u should wait till untethered jailbreak for ios 5.1....

you won’t be able to get to 5.0.1 once the 5.0.1 signing window is closed (even if you saved your 5.0.1 SHSH blobs)

Ahh, if you are still on 4.x.x you cannot upgrade to 5.0.1 without saved SHSH since apple no longer signs 5.0.1

Check Cydia and see if it has saved the 5.0.1 for you. If it has, then you maybe able to upgrade to 5.0.1 via iFaith. If cydia did not save the SHSH for you, then you are out of luck. You can only upgrade to 5.1

No , it is still possible to get to 5.0.1 from other versions ( as long as the phone is jailbroken with saved SHSH for 5.0.1 )

I've done it several times, and I did post a guide some pages back on how to do it..

I used TinyUmbrella, iFaith, iTunes and Redsn0w ( to jailbreak )

Not hard at all, just need to read and understand what ur doing before attempting to try ..

Respringing (there should be an option if you have SBSettings) will solve the issue.

Hi, i'm new in jb stuff,

here is my problem, i often back up using icloud, and restore it to my another iphone,so things is

if i jailbreak, will it affect my icloud?

and if i do have some jailbreak apps, will it be able to back up into my icloud as well?

guys i need help here.. i have a iphone 4 version 4.1.. i knew that 5.1 is the latest version but it's tethered Jailbreak....
so i think the best is upgrade to iphone 5.01 and do an untethered Jailbreak..
but how can i upgrade to only 5.01??
can i right click and upgrade specific ipsw, will it do the job??

Why not? At least I'm one of it.

Whenever apple release new version(5.1) they will no longer sign old version(5.0.1). So to answer ur question there is no way u can jump from 4.1 to 5.0.1 unless u have save ur SHSH... Please wait for 5.1 untethered jb out and upgrade it before another new version come out...

If your iPhone 4 is jailbroken, check Cydia and see if it has the 5.0.1 SHSH saved for you. If it does not have it, then you're out of luck. If it does, then you may be able to upgrade to 5.0.1 via Custom Firmware with iFaith.
