Problem is, i checked the model number and MC605MY is supposed to be a Malaysian unit and it is supposed to be a factory unlocked  set! any ideas on what went wrong? any ideas on how to troubleshoot? will Gevey sim actually help, eventhough this is supposed to be an unlocked set?

I would say perform a full wipe and try see if works.

If not, try Restore via iTunes.

Either one should work.

After reading all these JB's people been talking, so tempted to try the semi untethered >.< Guess gonna wait for the full untethered....I am lazy....

COnnect to iTunes and select Restore. Then it will be un-jailbreak. Hope this helps.

I previous hear ppl say it won't work. Not sure as I don't have that much knowledge in this.

I believe if apple stop signing 5.01, all effort will be wasted lo as it won't work. Maybe!

I don't think there will be an ETA. Just keep fingers crossed but I got a feeling it would be within this month. Again, just my assumption!

Guys, just an update on my situation, i hope some of the newbies might be able to gain something from what i did over the weekend.

The iphone4 is currently detecting network!  - however i think the signal strength is quite weak, it would disconnect and reconnect at times, but well, isnt that the iphone4's commonly known problem? anyway as long as it is no longer under "no service" status, i consider my job done. Here's the chronology of what i did :

Finally i can close case, but thru this, i learnt quite some thing, and that restore/update/JB an iphone and ipad are different in some ways. i still prefer working on ipad. very easy, lol.

Isn't that you have to swipe the On and Off button left to right or right to left? You don't need the ">" with the said one.

Try that and see if it works.

1. If you got backup, I think you can go back to 5.0.1 and some guides out there in the web.
2. Weird for reboot. Just JB? All I can think of is try to redo back the JB and see if everything okay.

Sync from where? iCloud? Email? If you had saved them on iCloud or email, you can import them.
