creating backup stage differs per device ( the more apps u have installed. the longer it takes. )
For me it took about 1 minute for 10-20 apps / games installed |

QUOTE(haruyap @ Jan 23 2012, 10:26 PM) Sorry if this has been asked before. After jailbreak with iOS 5.0.1, my ibook app cant be open. Is this just my phone or is the jailbreaking problem? Ibook cannot open? Are u using the latest redsn0w if ur on iPhone 4 ? if i'm not wrong, the latest redsn0w / corona fixed that issue |

QUOTE(izdyharz @ Jan 26 2012, 12:18 AM) Guys.. im a super noob, just got my Iphone 4s previously never own an iphone before. So im kinda confused here, it says better to do backup before you do the jailbreak. No, iTunes wont auto-sync So the steps is like this: 1)Backup your phone using Itunes 2)Restore your phone to factory settings 3)Do the jailbreak 4)Once jailbreak is completed, restore from your last backup. So my question is, everytime my phone connected to my computer, the system will auto backup/sync my phone into my computer. Let say if i already done my backup, then restore my phone to factory settings, i am afraid that the Itune will auto sync/backup the factory settings and overwrites my previous backup since as far as im concerned only 1 backup is available to choose(last backup). So im afraid when im gonna restore my iphone after done with the jailbreaking, it gonna picks the last backup which contains the factory settings instead. Not sure you guys can understand my concern or not. Unless you click Set up as New phone . Then u might have problems restoring your older backup But then u can always download iBackupBot on the PC and restore ur backup there |

What i did to upgrade it was ,
1. Get ur SHSH file from TinyUmbrella ( Tick set hosts to Cydia , then click Save SHSH) 2. Open iFaith ( locate the SHSH file, make sure its correct ( 5.0.1) , locate your IPSW , build it ) Then follow the steps for PWNED dfu mode. 3. In iTunes, use the modified Signed IPSW from iFaith ( should be on desktop ) and restore it 4. If the SHSH worked, it should restore smoothly with no errors. 5. Jailbreak it |

Cydia will save all available SHSH during the period when Apple still signs them.
Just boot up cydia when apple is still signing the SHSH's , then it will automatically save them Saved SHSH's can be viewed at the top of the Cydia homepage when it is fully loaded |

QUOTE(Junior_150982 @ Apr 13 2012, 12:33 AM) if ur current version is 4.xx then pls think before u upgrade to ios 5.1 No , it is still possible to get to 5.0.1 from other versions ( as long as the phone is jailbroken with saved SHSH for 5.0.1 many ppl encounter problem after jb in ios 5.1 for iphone 4... u should wait till untethered jailbreak for ios 5.1.... you won’t be able to get to 5.0.1 once the 5.0.1 signing window is closed (even if you saved your 5.0.1 SHSH blobs) I've done it several times, and I did post a guide some pages back on how to do it.. I used TinyUmbrella, iFaith, iTunes and Redsn0w ( to jailbreak ) Not hard at all, just need to read and understand what ur doing before attempting to try .. |

They're human too , if u were them i'm sure u wont work all day long on jailbreak exploits with no motivation .
It's not easy doing what they do, without them we have no jailbreak for 5.0.1 , and somemore its FOC , they're not forcing you to donate They could just give up anytime if they wanted to |
