How are you restoring it? Simple restore from iTunes or do you download the firmware first and do the Shift + Restore method?

You got to put ur phone in DFU mode before you perform restore

Yea problem was as soon as boot logo appears everything freezes like that and can't do anything.

Download the latest firmware for your iPhone and do a shift + restore. This will wipe the iPhone clean (thus solving your phone is full problem). Then you can do an untethered jb via the latest redsn0w.

Just list down all the apps you installed, and what is your IOS now? Try rebooting once in awhile will smoothen your iPhone lots. |

guys what is the different between tethered and untethered jailbreak? sorry guys lots of newbie question to ask.. coz i'll be getting my iphone 4s by tomorrow , i might need some basic information regarding jailbreak and any problem i will be facing like jailbreaking , restoring , or even when i am unable to turn on my phone and so on..
can u guys give me a tips or two in it? thanks

OK I have got everything figured out and fixed with my iPhone 4, BUT now I was looking at doing an old iPhone 3g that is running 4.2.1 and was going to JB that for someone. I was trying to use redsn0w for it and it has me designate the IPSW and "thought I did all that right but then it shuts down. No clue what the problem is, is there another way I should go about this?????

For 4s, u can jb using latest absinthe windows gui version. My advice is read thru this thread from page 1 and you would have a better picture on how to do it. Happy reading. |

i help my friend to jailbreak ip4s 9A406 firmware on windows
once i open absinthe 0.3 an error message come out say i need to disable the backup password
i google some solution said need to uncheck the encrypt iphone backup
but my friend never set backup password on itunes.
us set iphone 4s unlocked set

OK, I'm trying to use greenpois0n to JB an old 3G running 4.2.1 and when I try to run it and go into DFU I keep getting a retry message. Any idea why possibly???

Anyone tried modifying those daemons that are not needed so that the phone starts up faster and runs quicker? is there a JB tweak for this? (i'm not talking about reduced or removed animations like in springtomize)
