You can flash to any version whether is an upgrade or a downgrade using cwm recovery
No need to follow any progressive step up sequence

Guys, i just got a PM from the seller selling Zagg Invisible Shield, said that it is now available for Note. refer here . Anyone fancy to get one?  smile.gif  anyone have used the Zagg shield before? is it really scratch proof? Coz the price quoted was RM90, so its more expensive than average casings. so still considering if wanna get one. Maybe its time to get our Note play out NAKED (but protected).  laugh.gif
I got it earlier shipped from US but have not used them yet. doh.gif Very busy.

I have used them before and it really protects your external original casing. The application of the skin can be a nightmare though. If you like to use your phone "naked" but still protected, this is the route to take.

i seriously dun think Samsung was prepared to be one of the top leaders in terms of phone sales...

they dun have the proper support infrastructure ready.

i was near federal highway end of last week and decided to pop by the service centre and see if i can claim warranty (not so responsive screen + hissing sound from charger + the ori cable now causes phone to go into car mode)...

when i entered... wah, so many people. pressed for number... more than 20+ ppl ahead of me. waited... after more than 15 mins, gave up. coz in that 15+ mins, only called 2 more guys. at that rate, i'd have to wait for like... a few hours?!?

saw they now had feedback form. one question was -- how long i had to wait to be served... the answers options they have is a laugh... <1 minute; <3 minutes; <5 mins; <10mins (or sth like that)... the last option was just more than 15mins... my goodness... the questionnaire shows they are not even aware of the actual situation. it should give options like: <10mins; <30mins; <60mins, etc...

mate, my Note now (this is my second set) having the same issues as yours. think twice to go to the SC due to imagining all the fuss i will have to go through for the warranty claim purpose. and i will not want to leave my phone at the SC for weeks. sighhh.. but the screen issues always bugs me, and i'm afraid it will become worst by time. sad.gif

""ok, guys....

development on Rocket ROM is stopped for now - thread will be closed soon.

There are several reasons that lead me to that decision...one of them is lack of time, other is that I find nothing to improve on GB, and a third one...

I thank you all for your support and loyalty! Maybe Rocket comes back on ICS - who knows.""

Go to front page and search "What is rooting and what are its benefits", think it's in post 2.

Cons obviously is you void your warranty (but you can unroot actually) and the very small small chance of bricking your phone (follow instructions and the chance is virtually non existent).

Pros, more control over device. Backing up data eg. via Titanium Backup (eg. games progress, etc) will require root, and you can flash custom ROMs (more features, different themes, etc), custom kernals/tweaks (performance/batter life improvements), and do whatever tickles your fancy (overclock, underclock, etc)

Here simplified Rooting and CWM recovery for Galaxy Note N7000
- Download Root package, see at end of post
- There are three folder
1. Initial CFroot flasher
2. Two other folder having zImage file , you need one only

Which file do I use ?
Listen closely, for I will say zis only once!
Go to Settings -> About phone -> Kernel Version. Note the string present there:
2.6.35.7-N7000XXKJ4-CL641703
What matters most (KJ4) in this case, is in bold. Try to find the matching file
e.g. CF-Root-SGN_XX_XEN_KJ4-v5.0-CWM4.zip)

so choose accordingly

- Place the zImage file accordingly in folder 1.initial CFroot flasher /zImage folder

the bold part i dun understand...hahaha tongue.gif

"Extract tar file from the ROM(remember to extract it till tar, dont go deep)."

one time extract or what..? i dun understand the word till tar, dun go deep

wat u din understand? i dun find any difficulties from reading thru this.

after u extract the zip file, different format of the file will show but the icon will still the zip icon cz tar is another zip format. u go deeper than that will become the folders already. so stop at the tar step and put the tar inside the folder and start flashing. done
