Nexus = ICS4 --> but eventually note will be getting this too.
Note = Bigger screen, more powerful processor, S-Pen functions --> big is relative. s-pen... nice but its all about the apps and i've yet to see apps developed for it. otherwise, finger is still a good replacement.

i got the same feeling with u..if s2 got bigger screen display, i would think s2's first feel is so much better no matter in term of smoothness or software aspect.. i put the s2 side by side with my note, comparing the app loading time, slide from one page to another etc, s2 is much smoother and note is like dragging.. and temperature of the phone, s2 is cooler a bit compare to my note.. note can easily hit up to 42% although just surfing the web or just surfing the market..i did not face this in my ex-s2.. and the colour banding problem is so terrible in note.. but i cant let go my note yet..cos it is main to replace my older 5inch 'tablet'.. i used it as tablet and nor call..  both got pro and cons..i just have to bear with the cons and enjoy the pro..

are you on 2.3.6 firmware? there's single handed keyboard available...
but i find that i type fastest when i'm using swiftkey using two thumb finger.

i have thought that it will be slightly more expensive than note but now i believe they price it cheaper is due to the hardware is inferior compare to note...

You all can update through OTA? Just now I tried to search of update using OTA but reply with no update, why? , I am still on 2.3.5 KK1 stock rom.

Compared to ICS, 2.3.6 sure can't compete. I just wonder why my OTA not getting this update as others have...

just sharing what i discovered recently... apologies if this has been shared...

long, long time ago... i shared (and confirmed by other owners) that there seems to be more than one contact list on the phone. reason for saying is that from phone --> contacts, the list is like what we would expect. but when i click on the people icon from message to add recipients, the list could very well be different.

this is especially apparent when you have more than 1 account.

this is not a account sync setting issue coz based on what happened to me, only my main account was set to sync contacts. the rest all only had sync gmail.

so... how to fix this 'problem'?
1. login to the other (web version) gmail/ google accounts. go to contacts and delete 'other contacts'.
2. then go to your (web version) gmail/ google settings and "When I send a message to a new person, add them to Other Contacts so that I can auto-complete to them next time" is NOT selected. meaning you select "I'll add contacts myself".

now the contacts in message will be the same as what you see in phone -- contacts.

i think you should also do this for your main account... coz i believe the extra contacts that appeared from the message's contacts is actually the 'other contacts'. as long as its enabled and populated, then i believe it will appear in message's contacts.

Try update the Kies. Maybe it will detect 2.3.6 once updated.

yes bro... i also got the same thing 3 days ago.. jst fyi, after the update, u will see same changes as well. for me, i had the pink spot issue with the camera when i take pic in low light condition and now its seems have be resolved

are u using custom or stock ROM?

You would'nt face any of that if you upgrade to latest firmware (xxLA4) except for the 'screen sensitivity' issue during charging.

yeah u need to send it to service... the motherboard will get to be changed... as with mine
result... happy

note___ 1 week for ordering the new motherboard + 5 hours waiting time for the installation
            few days later... sme customer service centre will call u for ur feedback...

yes i've read that alot, "optional". what does that mean. the note i get here (malaysia) got nfc or not?

It is a common issue and i don't think it changes anything if another new motherboard is installed. You will still get some unresponsive touch-sensitive issues during charging.

I went to berjaya samsung service centre... no fuss there... except the long queue

Does NFC function depend on the any hardware in the phone, such as "NFC chip"
because I learnt that there is NFC function feature in the Ice Cream Sandwich..
If it is limited to the hardware and personally think that we cant have the NFC.

*NFC (Near Field Communication) works like a bluetooth. But nearer and faster.
Personally think that it will be widely used in the future as "e-wallet".
It also can be used as "Touch-n-go", key to access your car/home, etc..
But at the same time, it means.. when you lost your phone.. you may lose all the things that connected with it..

so galaxy note don't have the NFC chip riight ? How can we use that ? As far as i remember, from the spec, it says optional.
