Lately there is many 7" Android Tablet running on 2.3 Froyo firmware in the market with the Allwinner A10 CPU. And it seems by end of Chinese New Year many of them will run Ice Cream Sandwich aka Android 4.0. At present, I am using a Momo9c from ployer and I can say the speed is damn fast. So any one out there have a working Allwinner ICS android? Would like to hear more on that.

The allwinner CPU is based off the Cortex A8 and has a build-in Mali 400 graphics chip. It is even more powerful than the power vr SGX535

nop,single core design based on the licensed Cortex A8 architecture. It was mass produced by chinese manufacturers to counter ARM Cortex chips from Samsung. It is said that the chip itself cost just USD7/each to manufacture

Seriously guys, better hold your horses for now and wait for this chip to be slowly introduced to all tablets.

The VIA 8650 is a piece of crappy shit. Tablets using this All winner A10 will usually be priced above RM350.

Another alternative would be the Infotmic X220 1Ghz ARM11. Decent chip and performance and below RM300 price.

Price around rm399-530 depending on the package from LYN Forum sellers.

Without a camera and a slower CPU I think the Allwinner will be a better bet

The allwinner has support for camera up to 8MP but you would usually see 2MP on the lower end tablet market. Decent enough.

No idea about Paladin but my Momo9 new unit with ICS works perfectly with market and most apk. Will do further testing and post here.

Most china tablet whether Froyo or ICS are rooted and if custom Rom can definitley root if not already rooted.

Guys...I am currently using Novo7 Advance which is also on A10...not problem so far....check out www.ainol.com...

They are releasing Novo 7Aurora and Novo 7Elf soon..both running ICS on A10 with Mali 400...and 1GB DDR3 ram...

I think its better to get A10 rather than the MIPS proc, due incompabilty of apps...

Still exploring out everything, not yet test out with hd game (not sure where to download) as included games in chinese language, looks like momo have their own software banks kot, as don't have friends here to translate

Overall performance is good, not yet connect to tv test out hd video, just watch on tablet, for the price worth it la, not yet buy sd card to put in it. So judt downloaded basic software from android market.

This is my first china tablet so can't compare much between others

Have not seen any Allwinner with GPS or Bluetooth yet. As for camera, you can wait for the new Allwinner, with 9.7 IPS panel, most of the specs is 1.3MP front and 2MP back camera.

hi do u guys experienced when charging..

"I received my ployer momo9 a few days ago.

I plugged the charger and let it charge overnight, and the next day I went to try it.
I immediately noticed that the screen did not respond correctly, if you pressed a certain point of the screen it behaved like you were sliding your finger across the screen (moves the screen in the launcher, games are unplayable, etc.). At first I thought the tabled would be faulty, but then I unplugged the charger and everything started to work fine: smooth touch detection, 5 points multitouch, games ok, etc.

So, I guess the charger Pandawill sent to me (with an european plug) is faulty and is perhaps sending too much current to the tablet and so the screen goes crazy? The charger is labeled 5V 2A, just what the tablet requires. I measured charger output with a multimeter and it's 5.2V aprox, so I guess current (not voltage) is probaby not stable or too high.
Also, when charging the tablet it always hangs after a while and I have to press the reset button to use it.

Should I ask for a replacement charger? I don't want to send everything back because the tablet works just fine once charged... of course I could just go to a store and buy a charger myself, but I'd like to know if this happened to someone else having this tablet."

Definitely, charger problem, have experience that before with my android phone when buying spare charger.

i'm noticed there is lagging with my momo9c, it's happen if opening browser or jumping from one apps to another. and sometimes, wifi give "error" state when off then turn it on back. but after restart, it's works fine.

So what i'm doing is, i'm installing task killer, and autokill application not in my ignore list.the 2nd apps i use is wifi manager that help me to ensure wifi not dropped when my momo9c change to standby mode (screen off). now both, wifi and lagging problem reduced.

another things i see is, i'm installing setCPU and noticed that it only running on 1008Mhz max instead of 1.2, is it common?

The mini to HDMI should work but China products you know la. Need to test with a real Mini to HDMI to troubleshoot whether it's the cable or the tablet.

Right now I'm using ICS 4.01 as its the only ICS version available from ployer website atm. Why do u ask? Do u have issues with GB?

mine unit got lag, even when go to setting dialog box ask whether to force close or wait the process to finish. sometimes going to main android menu the dialog came out. But for today its look like my momo not yet give the error, except wifi "error"

I think this is latest from A10 tablet not terjojol button.

Allwinner A10 is single core not dual core

And make sure it's not OEM because many OEM sets has smaller capacity battery and the camera is .3MP not 2.0MP.

i'm finishing upgrade my momo to 4.0.3, The OS smoother than 2.3 before, before even want to type i need to type one by one because lagging. Connection to wireless also smooth as there is no more waiting (once connect terus boleh browse internet). not yet test with 3g modem as my usb otg cabble MIA, don't know where to get new one in Terengganu

Not yet testing with other apps. will test everything first

I never use calendar so maybe there's a bug. Momo11bird have stock already. Looks good with dual camera & 9.7 IPS screen.

I was on ics before but i'm back on gb now, in ics if want your calendar sync with gmail calendar, you need to add your gmail account using exchange app(or server ) i guess it is built in with ics, it takes me a few try and error before finding this out. after adding gmail account in exchange, your calendar will sync flawlessly..cheers

Bro thanks for your tips. FYI, i have try several times to setup exchange with google. and stupidest is i always put gmail server as m.gmail.com which is wrong!

Simply put, if you ever get the issue in Accounts & Sync for a gMail account where it prompts you for the Domain\Username, Password, and Server, here's what you enter:
Domain\Username: \(user)@gmail.com
Password: (password)
Server: m.google.com

and yes, using exchange can solve calendar sync.

p/s actually i try to reinstall gapps for calendar only, try so many time, but it seems the "sync" setting came out if using google but it's not work and my calendar forced closed.

so sad today my momo lcd cracked in the center. i wrongly sat on it. haiz, now only can connect through hdmi, no image on lcd, but the touchscreen still work
