1. Brand: open to suggestion, mainly i'm just considering Samsung and SE

2. Budget. 500-700

3. Specs. : I dont need OTT specs. Entry level is ok, but not too low or too many problems. scratch resistant.

4. What you need in the phone:
Am hoping for at least 5mp coz i want this phone to serve as digicam+able to wifi during travel.
I'm not the type who will constantly upgrading my phone,so i need a phone with less trouble. coz from what i read
in the forum, a lot of android phones got this problem la,that problem la..

Here are the list that i've considered:

1. Galaxy Y : main problem with me is its 2mp camera
2. SE Xperia Mini Pro : Seems ok except for its small screen-i'm afraid i will crave for bigger screen.
3. CSL MI-410 : CSL really ok? quite scared to try CSL range.

Help me by suggesting any models. mind you, this is my 1st time using Android.
And is it ok if i just buy AP model?

at your budget csl mi410 is the best phone you can get

CSL MI-410 got buggy stock ROM if Im not mistaken, better dun buy since u will use it long term. Somemore CSL only rebadge those cheapo china phones.

1 question, are u the type that will root the phone and all that?

If not, galaxy ace will suit u well. The main issue Im facing now (Im using 1) is the unlock lag, other users face this too but very little lag only (non-stock launcher, stock 1 laggier). Mine is kinda bad, even lasts a couple of secs after unlock. Probably some apps caused it, not too sure. But it can be solved by using a custom ROM I guess.

Or top up and get huawei ideos x5

For 2nd hand, can look at used SE xperia x10.

AP sets are not that recommended since the price difference of ori and AP are kinda little. AP sets are warrantied by AP company, ori sets are warrantied by official distributers.

Ori - Pay more now, future worry less
AP - Pay less now, future worry more

We recommend ori as many people got bad experience with AP warranty.

galaxy ace was being considered as well.

but may i know the reason u suggest user xperia x10? apart from small scree,is there any problem with xperia mini pro?

reading this thread also makes me noticing huawei. too bad huawei honor has a 1K price tag
am also considering ideos x5.huhu.. hope to see lower price in feb

X10 got good camera and better than ace, but 2nd hand though.

Mini pro is ok apart from the small screen.

Galaxy ace is ok for simple use. Since u gonna flash ROM, that would make it better but still not as good as x10, x5 or mini pro

-Xperia Arc/Arc S
it's a good phone
freexperia project seems to bring alone the ICS update nicely
HDMI! oh a must for me!
official ICS release end of march
Nice camera between all 3, and great 720P recording
BUT
it's abit pricey between all 3
no front facing camera
and I'm not so sure about the GPS performance, can someone confirm me with this?
