need input - my android got bricked sweat.gif (it was an old samsung i5500) and i wanna get a new one.

1. Brand: prefer Samsung not really a fan of sony ericsson and htc seems laggy (my bro has one but maybe the new models are better?)

2. Budget. rm 800 and below

3. Specs. anything better than my old phone, good processor so it wont lag, good internal memory, android2.3 and above + upgradeable, screen size min 3" with good ppi

4. What you need in the phone: candybar and sturdy and nice looking ahaha tongue.gif , decent battery life for all day data usage

i was looking at the galaxy mini2 which looks great but have no idea when its gonna be released. next best thing?

any suggestions? rclxub.gif

Wait for Samsung galaxy ace plus, better than mini 2 and will likely fit your budget. smile.gif

ace plus is overpriced, RM960. galaxy w is the best choice but still need to topup or wait for ace 2.

hmm when would the ace2 come out tho? really need to get a phone soon. also the honor looks good but i guess i shouldve added that i have tiny hands! 'fraid a 4" screen might be too big

on a completely different note, what if my budget was sliced to around rm500, what is the best android out there around that price range?

That 1 is not official price la sweat.gif , AP set somemore. Wait for Samsung's official price 1st la, I think its RRP would be 799(max also 899 I guess) and then ace stop production.

Ace2 should come out somewhere between Apr-Jun, but I think gonna be out of your budget. Maybe can try and eye the galaxy W 1st, if can't I think ace plus is your only choice for Samsung.

For RM500, SE xperia mini AP set is your best bet but u dun want SE right? Next would be Samsung galaxy Y if u dun mind its 2mp camera.

Nothing else. Bout the batt life, I think it should be alright. For further confirmation, can check/ask in its official thread --> http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2185722

Pricing for ace 2, hmm.gif hard to say. If they wanna compete well then I'm guessing RRP 1099, depends on Sony xperia U's price also.

Can't find Android tablet recommendation thread, so tumpang-ing here. Can anyone recommend a tablet with following specifications:

*7in screen
*capacitive
*price - less than RM 600.

Mainly to use for reading ebooks & comics, & watching the occasional .avi tv episode.

ok thanks, just checked out the xperia mini, it looks good nod.gif . i'm just basing my dislike of SE from my old phones, the charger would get fiddly and hard to charge, and it seemed like cepat rosak. is that still an issue or has SE improved on that?

Ya, old SE using proprietary huge connector (the one use for headphone and charger) is not lasting. doh.gif
Imagine u need to press down to unplug, the wear and tear cause contact problem for one of my friend's old SE.
She then switched to SE Xperia mini and no regret. rclxms.gif
New SE are using micro-usb which seems more lasting. nod.gif
