well, the higher the ppi, the more pixel dense the screen is, so text will look more sharper and u can see more content

if want get phone now, I suggest you get xperia s, if not get note
else, if not urgent, then wait for htc one x (end of march release base on a forumer said in htc one x thread) or wait s3

The 2 u mentioned is the best within your budget . If the screen is too small, can top up a bit for a huawei ideos x5.

and is internal storage just 300mb
for the camera, ray using 8MP while U using 5MP, but your processor become dual core
since MP not an issue unless you got print it, else xperia U totally is a better choice

Just got PM, now Ray Ori is rm790. omg. super tempted. when its first launch price tag around rm1299. i bet price tag for xperia U will be around that too. later need to wait 3-4 month for it to drop like Ray now.

i guess, better i just get Ray now. enjoy lil bit. then when xperia U or S price drop, can change ady. haha. hope it is a good plan.
