i would like to buy xperia arc s,

mainly use for play games and takes pictures,

its said 320mb for internal memory,

can i install a lot of games on it?

my budget can only get arc s only sweat.gif ,

where the games are installed? internal or can change it to memory card?

im new to android sweat.gif
*
usually games only took 20-40mb on internal storage only unlike samsung's phone

the large file will be installed on sd card so you will need a large sd card rather large internal memory

i installed fifa 12 , pew pew 2 , grabatron , experiment 13 , deap space , bc2 , nova 2 , star batillion , fpSe

and left with 70mb + storage .

If root i think still can remove bruce lee , crash bandito and others bloatware .

No need to worry about HD game cause the game are not installed inside the internal memory .

yup, i'm an android developer... currently just borrow my sis's xperia to test my apps..
how much is neo v/ galaxy w/ huawei honor...? and what's the difference if i buy a walkman/xperia mini/pro? i've been developing android apps for a few months now... but since doesn't have own android phone yet.. so very noob on this hoho

i just see the galaxy w/huawei honor's price at lelong.. both of them RM900++.. and neo is Rm700++.. why can't I just get this phone http://www.lelong.com.my/nice-set-huawei-s...2-02-Sale-P.htm or http://www.lelong.com.my/offer-huawei-ideo...2-03-Sale-P.htm for example? it's rm599 and rm499 only? or is these 2 phones not recommended? if yes, may i know why? thanks
*
mainly because of the screen resolution and processor

800 x 480 is the average for now

the other phone got only 320 x 480 which is a problem for developing application

the best still is nexus s which is a google phone but the price is about Rm1000

so neo / honor / w etc come in 2nd place

oouh thanks a lot for the info! yup i just realized the processor for those phones sucks.. anyway my boss is the one who's going to provide the funds to buy these phones.. and I don't think your recommendation fits his budget (we're a very small company, mind you tongue.gif) and he asks me to buy a low-end phones but with gps and accelerometer at least, since we would want our apps to work even on the low end phones.... so after few research, I think I'm going to buy Xperia Mini (http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_xperia_mini-3947.php) .. AP at lelong can get about RM500 ..is this phone good? don't really mind about the resolution though, because most probably he's going to get me an al-cheapo android tablet (with 800x480 resolution at least) after this so we can test our apps on bigger resolution el-cheapo..
*
xperia mini is the best in the price range smile.gif

it have middle range processor msm8255 which same on xperia arc

and theoretically can do anything a middle high phone can do aside from its resolution

plus the msm8255 is quite popular among 2nd generation processor so you can find info more easy on the web

part of the inner body of xperia ray is made of metal, even the side is metal, the battery cover is plastic

if you have big fingers, typing would be little bit problem, not hard but the virtual keypad is small compared to other phones.

if you're planning to buy it, get the black color.
*
+1

black is gorgeous

RAZR Maxx won't be available, but we can order the battery, courier from other countries which it's available....RAZR Maxx pros is the battery which holds 3k++mah....which is the highest capacity among all mobile phone batteries...other than that, is just a normal Droid RAZR....
RAZR Maxx, there's this model but will not launch in Malaysia or maybe neighbouring countries near us....unless Brightstar did want to bring them in...then will be good news, but won't be cheap...

RN800-1.1k?? get xperia Play AP, galaxy W, xperia ARC (not ARC S), Huawei Honor, maybe Galaxy S/S Plus, oso mayb live with walkman....

HTC?? future proof = Sensation XE only(coz 1.5GHz dual core)....next to Sensation and XL version...

In between RAZR and Galaxy Nexus?? sure Nexus....but if u wan build quality, RAZR, as i am happy user of RAZR.....waiting for ICS upgrade, then that makes RAZR better than Nexus(when both in ICS)
*
razr maxx battery is build in . You cant remove it so i think you cant use the battery with normal razr .

acually, u're wrong....it can be taken out...try youtube it....razr maxx and normal razr battery size are the same, just different capacity.....my friend in america which works in motorola told me
*
actually i am not wrong .

you cant REMOVE it by YOURSELF .

I have a razr here and i couldnt find a way to remove the build in battery without void my warranty .

And you are wrong on the battery size . ITS different . Double capacity while not changing the material and size huh ?

Imposible . Maybe you should looks at xda post or bout how the gap and dmg they done to their phone when swaping

the battery . Thx

www.youtube.com could be helpful also

If camera isnt an important thing to you, then Galaxy Nexus is the way to go. The screen is better than the other two. Galaxy Nexus batt life is better than S2...but i think RAZR has the best batt life among them. I like the design of RAZR...but the screen bezel is too big which makes the phone looks weird.
*
but the design make the phone solid . I think it can survive many falls while sg2 might break in 1 fall .
and its waterproof also .

Yea motorola build quality is very good. But we r going to use case anyway..so i don think this is that important. I would choose design/look over quality any day.  RAZR is not waterproof...its water resistant, so dont try immerse in water lol.
*
razr design also better than gs2 blink.gif

To request recommendation, what u need to post:

1. Brand : prefer samsung
2. Budget: rm1000 ( can pay a little more than that)
3. Specs: not really sure as long as i can play game smoothly...
4. What you need in the phone :  good camera, not-laggy when playing wit games and apps.... possibly long battery life...

I'm currently looking at the samsung S plus... but not really sure should i wait for S3 to come out and straight buy S2... because S2 have a better camera... can any 1 give me some advice?
*
if camera is important to you then you should get xperia arc / arc s

price range from Rm999-Rm1300 for ap/ori have HDMI output ( you can show ur pic on tv and control with your tv remote !!!!!! cool function )

have bravia engine which better than super amoled pen tile and on par with super amoled plus and have

best cam for android . Other than s2 , almost all samsung line have bad cam / without led flash / 5mp

downside is lower internal memory and no front cam . You should get it if you don mind the front cam thing

because the rear cam really different alot .

or you can get galaxy W , its cam is at least better than s plus with led flash and decent cam

but downside is smaller screen , less quality also but cheaper price

LT18 Xperia ARC S AP [ 4.2" | 8.0MP | 1.4GHz ] - RM 1210 AP Black ( FOC.8GB )
LT15 ARC AP [ 4.2“ | 8.0MP | 1GHz ] - RM 1010 AP ( FOC.8GB )
LT15 ARC ORI Lite Pack [ 4.2“ | 8.0MP | 1GHz ] - RM 1055 Silver & Blue ( WITH HDMI )
Galaxy S Plus I9001 8GB AP [ 4.0' | 5.0MP | 1.4Ghz ] - RM 1165 Black
Galaxy S Plus I9001 8GB ORI [ 4.0' | 5.0MP | 1.4Ghz ] - RM 1415 Black & Full White

price reference

Criteria:-
Price = RM 400 - RM 700
Screen size = the bigger the better
Camera = higher MP the better
Processor = best performance

Basically Im looking for phone best bang for buck.

Appreciate your opinions. Thanks.

if really cant over Rm700 then you should get live with walkman which give 3.2" screen , cortex a8 1 ghz equivalence processor , 5mp cam and dual speaker .

Thanks for the advice... now i'm looking at the xperia Arc S and the xperia ray.. something that is bothering me is arc s dont have the front camera thingy.... Looking at the spec... both are similary the same...  what about the back camera quality?

and do arc S have torch  light function? can you make a simple comparision about this 2? sorry i'm very new to smartphone thingy and both seems to be quite the same for me..... what important to me is camera and the display quality.... thanks in advance ya!
*
I don have ray , but the ray screen is very small when compared to arc when i see at shop .

The ray looks brighter ( maybe too bright ) but the arc colour more accurate it have gapless screen ( when you look at it it seem like colour printing on the screen )

Both can use led as torch .

Camera both are almost equal .

Arc got HDMI output . Sometime i watch video and play music using my tv it is nice thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

If you don browse web or watching video too much on phone the Ray is a better choice .

However that decide by you , you can have a look of both device at SE authorize shop there is real demo there .

p/s : ray will get face unlock function in ics update in bout 1 month time with second cam . And now SE authorize shop

giving promotion Rm999 come with live sound .

1. Brand. (Samsung)
2. Budget. (No issue)
3. Specs. (The best of everything)
4. Hardcore user (Games and internet)

Gone through some comments and its seem that galaxy s2 is very popular. Which is better g version or non-g version? Or should i go for note?

Thanks
*

galaxy nexus performance is slighty lower than s2. the good thing about galaxy nexus is, it's a google phone biggrin.gif

comment from uncle benny
*
slightly lower in term of ? benchmark ?

In fact you cant see the difference .

In real life when the cpu is similar then screen / camera / software is more important .

As a google phone , you will not meet the situation " not compatible " which offen happen to mali 400 for games .

And 720p screen is nice too . So nexus is better .

No ICS for Desire Z.

HTC really suck in rolling Android updates. Most being abandon after released/several updates.  shakehead.gif

Better than samsung who only update 3 of its phone .

sg2 , note , galaxy r

HTC upgrade all their 2011 lineup include 2010 desire hd
