To bad then. I don't like the fact that mifi has to have battery inserted to work & and those are not standard battery size we can easily find. But the e355 is not a DC-hspa+ device. Guess I should wait them to come out a new model, or maybe lte.

This might sound like a repetitive question but if i wan a portable solution for my 3g, i should be looking at tl-mr3040 and hame apr-01 right?
and if i not portable then tl-mr3420 is the best right?

Lets say i insist on having them portable which of the 3040 or hame is a better choice in terms or heat dissipation, battery longevity (eg for 2 device) ?

I am reading different stuff about the 3040 as ppl in this forum reporting that it wont work if u remove the battery but i read a review that says u could power it through the ac without the battery. Care to clarify on this?

well there is 2 model, TL-MR3040 and TL-MR11U ( with 2000mAh )

MR11u only sold in mainland china/hongkong ( which u can get via Taobao as well )

and so far i tested both model in Version 2, both is working fine without any battery inside and power on via AC,..

notworthy.gif

well for heat issue, i guess anything that can open and remove battery with removable back cover is always better in heat dissipation, right ?
i am using MR11u with battery and back cover remove,...

for modem support list, mr3040/mr11u i think quite flexible like mr3240, at least u could add modem bin file into it,..

for the tplink stock firmware wise, u can always opt for openwrt too,.. if u dont like the stock firmware

although Hame is nice gadget with power bank function but the built in battery is a drawback,.. anything with built in battery after long time using battery life will be shorten,.. no matter with the auto cut off power circuit built in or not,.. if u are a little bit more to mobile than staying home usage,. it is really good as u can take out the battery and power it via any usb port/ac as well/power bank/computer...

( above just my personal opinion )

peace out icon_rolleyes.gif

I really like it without built in battery, there I found TL-WR703N & TL-MR3020, but are these 2 routers can work with power bank? What is the difference between the 2 and also what makes them different from the TL-MR3040 other than battery?
Thanks in advance

hi guys, i'm new in this forum. i've a zte mf60 from umobile and just subscribed to maxis wireless broadband. so far, there's no problem using the mifi(means it's unlocked)
my question is, is there any firmware for this mifi that can boost the modem and antenna gain?
