But I do agree with you. Based on the rudimentary calculations I did on the previous model Korean vs Jap cars, loss in resale value in RM sense may be the same, but the percentage is higher for K cars. So in order for the loss in value of K cars to be equal to those of Jap cars, the initial selling price needs to be lower by at least RM10k, otherwise you will definitely lose more than buying a Jap of a similar price.

And in these current uncertain times, not many ppl will take that risk.

gotta understand, it's not Hyundai's fault completely. Their planning is on time, it's just our wonderful govt's approval and non-competitive disclosure crap that's taking such a long time.

Would hope 1.8 at 110k should be max for high end, but that's highly unlikely to have different variants.
I honestly wouldn't get the 1.6, but that's my thoughts...

Now, I have to wait for the Veloster price...if it's priced the same as a 1.8 Elantra...it's going to be nonsense...but I sense they will do that.

I have a hunch Veloster pricing is gonna be out of this world. Probably along the lines of Prius C and Honda CRZ or was it CZR? (Whatever, can't remember... the 1.5L Hybrid)....

The new Accent is selling like crazy in many countries. I just came back from HCM and New Accent was such a common sight already (many Veloster also). In GCC the Accent is already the number 5 best-selling car (despite it was launched in March 2011) while the Solaris in Russia is now the best selling foreign car. All those countries have no GDi as well and still using 4speed automatic

I've just got out of my office tonight in Glenmarie and guess what I've saw...

A lorry full of the new Hyundai Elantra and probably the new Hyundai Accent as well I couldn't confirm onto the Accent though as I've only seen the design tonight while posting this on Lowyat and come to realization that what I've saw is probably Accent. It's heading the opposite way of Hyundai Glenmarie, so I believe it's heading somewhere else, maybe to Johor for the car show mentioned.
