Ceh, like that the comparison will never end lol. I can also say why not compare the XV40 against the YF?

Sonata YF std specs:
http://www.mudah.my/Hyundai+Sonata+2+0+AUTO-13337785.htm  RM111,000
How to confirm that it's std specs? Check out the keys in the ignition below the steering wheel. High spec 2.0 has push start smile.gif

Camry XV40 2.0E:
http://www.mudah.my/Toyota+Camry+2+0+Vvti+10-13226922.htm  RM122,000
Confirm std specs: Check for body coloured door handles and rear number plate garnish (G spec has chrome)

Both 2010 models:
Sonata YF RM136,000 less RM111,000 = RM24,888

Camry XV40 RM145,000 less RM122,000 = RM23,000

Ceh, then from your exaple, there is no doubt in the resale value already, then ppl here dont have to talk about resale value anymore. it will have same or very similar depreciation as the hot selling jap car.

You fail to take into account the savings per month when invested in FD for the person who paid in full.
The amount he saves annually from car payments and placed into FD will definitely nett him more $$$.
An amount of 11400 saved from monthly payments for 1 year and placed into FD with compounded 3% would already give him 1800 nett at the end of 5 years.

Wheres the 7963.70 from your example needs to deduct the 7K interest, so only giving 963.7 nett after 5 years.

ah. i guess you completed the whole puzzle. the monthly difference in installment can be saved up as well. smile.gif so I agree with you now. time to lay out a spreadsheet for the exact simulation.

though, different people may have slightly different situation to consider. i may actually still prefer to keep the cash for emergency, and so find a way to strike a balance. i kinda belive the difference in amount is minimal and other non monetary factors can easily out weight..

but you are right... thanks..... smile.gif

If pay cash for the car and put the monthly instalment of 950 into FD every month for 5 years will give you net return of RM4568.

Scenario A: Pay 50k cash and put 50k into FD. Every month pay 950 for 5 years. Net is 963.70

Scenario B: Pay 100k cash. Every month put 950 into FD 3%. Net is 4568

Difference between Scenario A and B : RM3604

my cousin who js came back from Hyundai showroom in Butterworth, told the same thing.
rm110k seems reasonable for CKD unit when compare to Civic CKD 1.8....5-8k cheaper but extra spec/gadget worth more than 5k...

but for some ppl it still may not be reasonable due small diff albeit the spec.

Really? I hear someone told me before 9th Feb, but no sure.

1. Rm110K not worth 1.8? Kindly give me some suggestion of others Car.

2. If 1.6 Full spec around RM100k is acceptable?

I still think if u pay more around 110k for elantra.. Still not competitive enough.. Ppl still arent dumb.. Rather add few K get altis or civic.. Cause at the end of 5 year term using the car.. When u sell it off.. U still win ppl.. Cause u get to retain ur car value..

I'm taking 5 years as an example.. Even if we use it for another 7-9 years.. It is still gonna be same..

Nvm la.. Just wait for the official pricing.. =)

If it's true as rumored(Feb 9 soft launch etc.) then I don't think it's possible to keep the details hidden for too long.
