How bout if battery life and office use are optional?
*
Only the U series laptops will have slightly longer battery lives (up to 6-7 hours).. the others are only normal, which is around 3-4 hours...
All are okay for office use and are even capable of mid-level gaming icon_rolleyes.gif

14.0'' HD LED LCD
2Gb memory
500 GB HDD

Acer Nplify 802.11b/g/n

Since the Nvidia G310M is more or less on par with that of Intel HD3000...
I guess the price is around RM1.5-1.6k, depending on physical conditions as well as remaining warranty duration smile.gif

2. Budget = RM 1900
3. Usage = Office use, web, HD movies
4. Preferred laptop/screen size = 14 to 15"

A little bit feminine(thin. light) would be a bonus.

Thanks  : )

hello,

brand: any reliable brand
budget: rm4000 +/-
usage: high end game, hard core torrent n surfing, music, movies, some office work
screen: full HD, 17" preferably, HD only and smaller screen is ok actually
additionally
- durable, since i move around a lot
- solidly available in malaysia for cash n carry; my acer 6935G is dying and i dont have time to wait for postage
i did check ASUS G53SX-S1208V from december product guide the resolution only 1366x768,
and Qosmio F750-1001X didnt even mention the resolution.
should i go with one of these 2 or any better alternative?
*
The Asus G53Sx (RM3999) comes with FullHD screen, the brochure is wrong laugh.gif
As for the Qosmio, the screen is HD only~

The Asus would be the better pick~
The only competitor is from Sager:
NP8130, i5-2430M + Nvidia GTX560M + (1600x900)@RM3654, FreeDOS [CPU Options: i5-2410M - i7-2860QM]
NP8130, i5-2430M + Nvidia GTX560M + (1920x1080)@RM4099, FreeDOS [CPU Options: i5-2410M - i7-2860QM]

1. Preferred Brand: any reliable brand
2. Budget: 3k
3. Usage: online streaming, general web surfing, music, movies, some office work
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 15"to 16'"

additionally
- would prefer to get it without OS - I plan on installing Linux

So far I have pre-selected 3 models.
1- Samsung Serie 7 Chronos 700Z5A but I don't know if it's coming to Msia :/
2- N55SF but I'm a bit lost with the recent upgrade and what not. Also, can it be found without Windows ?
3- dv6-6c19TX with an interesting RM3.1K offer on hp.com.my but it comes bundled with Windows and not too sure about HP brand.

Looking forward to reading feed-back / advices from the sifus browsing this board  nod.gif
*
Well, you don't really need a very powerful laptop for your usage brows.gif
1. No idea when the Series 7 are coming as well sad.gif
2. Nope, FreeDOS version aren't available
3. The Dv6 would be a good choice, quite a good bargain~

Anyway, can consider these multimedia laptops as well:
Dell XPS 15, i5-2450M + Nvidia GT540M@RM3299 [JBL], upgradeable to FullHD, backlit keyboard customizable
Toshiba Satellite P755-1003X, i7-2670QM + Nvidia GT540M@RM3299[harman/kardon]
Lenovo IdeaPad Y570, i5-2410M +Nvidia GT555M@RM2699[JBL]

i check the price for samsung 7 series chronos 15" in Australia, the price is dem expensive. $1970. put if minus GST 10%, around $1773.. almost rm 5.5k . the price is now compareable with macbook pro 15"
*
Its not very surprising actually, especially for Samsung laptops with innovative features, just look at the previous 9 series sweat.gif sweat.gif
Samsung is a rising brand in terms of laptops, hopefully we'll be able to see cheaper laptops in the future, at least around Toshiba pricing levels thumbup.gif

IPS screens are usually only available at more expensive laptops... way expensive sad.gif
If its mainly for Office and Photoshop (excluding IPS), then can consider:

Guys, i'm using Asus N43SL 14" right now, someone wants to trade it with N55SF 15.6". I really like the design of the laptop. And I'm quite a gamer, the upgrade GPU is a plus right? How much should i add if i want to trade my laptop with him? Is RM200 enough?

My laptop specs:
i5 2410m
8gb ram
640gb hdd
gt540m 1gb
n43-sl
got bang & olufsen ICEpower really nice sound~ same like yours just without the small woofer.

His laptop specs:
Intel® Core™ i5-2430M 2.4GHZ

NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 555M 2GB DDR3 VRAM

750GB HDD Data

DDR3 Upgraded To 8GB RAM

Diagonal Size : 15.6”
*
Sounds fishy... why would he trade a better laptop for yours? rclxub.gif
You might wanna check thoroughly before dealing.. If the laptop is in pristine condition, then RM150-200 would be enough~
