Ya but it seem too loud for me the piak piak sound. Very difficult to get good dynamics in addition to my amateur playing skills tongue.gif

Im noob at muffle snare drum. Thought u can share some general/basic idea on muffling. Is it ok if i put a pillow inside the snare drum then tape the surrounding sides of the snare drum with tape? To even out the sound.

don't put pillow in snare. normally use pillow in bass drum. neway back in the days where i got no money, i D.I.Y biggrin.gif bought masking tape, fold a few tissues into square shape, stick it on the tape, then stick the tape on the snare (offset to the middle). did it both top and bottom skin. I dun like taping all the way across the skin. looks too messy. biggrin.gif

Oic. So if put tissue will more tight sound. Is it proportional to the thickness or area of the tissue?

I also dun like look messy but no choice la cos the sound too loud need to muffle. Mine is a pearl masters 8 X 12". Quite big.

scientifically, the tissue helps to absorb the vibrance. so i paste them at off center, at the spot which produces the most annoying 'piangggggggg' sound, i u get what i mean biggrin.gif thickness or width is up to u actually. but basically, more tissue, more dampened.
