guys..i heard that alesis dm5 and 6 have compatibility issue with double pedal..something about the pad only recognize the impact of the beater which is closer to the middle.. darn i was planning to buy this for a long time >.< does anyone know about this??
I'm getting bored of seeing the same old sh*t being discussed here.
Not everybody has the resources (Read: Money) to get gears all the time. How about we shift the topic to something we can afford to spend: TIME!
#1 How often do you fellow drummers practice a week? #2 What rudiments, techniques you focus on? #3 If not, what songs you usually play along with in your practice hours?
#1 I was once addicted to drums..and still actually..last time i used to practice everyday 10-11am,1-2pm,5-7pm and 9-10..n0w hardly g0t time since w0rking..0nce a m0nth >.< #2 singles d0ubles paradiddies..f0r f0ot is slide technique #3 gro0vy s0ngs..latin preferably
You guys use headphones or speakers for music when playing along when drumming?
speakers mostly..prefer my ears to hear every ch0p i made f0r c0ntr0l purp0ses; accents, gh0st n0tes..h0wever if i'm practicing with a metr0n0me, then headph0ne'll be the better ch0ice
so i been doing a moller without realise it? i always watch the teknik video and try copy the moller stoke but cant do it cos feel weird..

lol..moeller is a natural technique most drummer will do when they reach their max speed..it's natural when u feel the tension in your fingers controlling the sticks to bound fast, you move the control from fingers to wrist^^ Jim Chapin broke down the steps so that we could apply it to 3 or 4 strokes ^^
0ne 0f my teacher taught me a way t0 master my weak hand n fo0t.. he switched the drums t0 be p0siti0ned left handed and made me play just basic beats 0n it.. it's damn hard..but kinda pay 0ff in the end (i didn't really master it..just s0 s0 )
hi guys! this is my humble c0ver f0r can0n in d this was my last vide0 sh0t, the 0nly sh0t i played decently..all 0thers were crap..my drumming skills makin karat edy >.<' my hand 0s0 n0t up t0 speed with the s0ng..especially when r0lling..w0uld appreciate if all the sifus here c0uld dr0p s0me c0mments

Just wondering if you guys face this problem of being able to do double-stroke on one hand but not the other? I realize I can do it better on my left hand than on my right and it's really frustrating.
had the same problem with u. what i did was get a pillow, sit in front of laptop, go to http://metronomer.com/, n start hitting. i did that while watching movie, playing dota (when died, obviously), surfing, or to simplify during any break i can get between activities
Hahaha never thought about practising while dotaingĀ Thanks for the tip man. Believe it or not, I never thought about practising outside of my drumsetĀ
i was in ur shoes once i knew about the tips of using pillow to practice, but never did it seriously. until i discover most of the songs i listen to are very fast and i can't catch up. so i started practicing rudiments, at that time double stroke is my weakness. hit on everything i can lay my fingers on. even on the steering wheel when driving. my target is to get use to double stroke and now double stroke is not a problem anymore. i proceed to paradiddle. and still doing the same exercise not a pro tip. but it works for me

How the best way to muffle the snare drums? I want get the solid and dry sound. Tap tap tap and not the loud piak piak sound.
if u tune it right, the piak piak sound can be very nice lol. neway, i use muffle rings and tapes. neva tried moongel before the best answer would be depending on what sound u want
Ya but it seem too loud for me the piak piak sound. Very difficult to get good dynamics in addition to my amateur playing skills
Im noob at muffle snare drum. Thought u can share some general/basic idea on muffling. Is it ok if i put a pillow inside the snare drum then tape the surrounding sides of the snare drum with tape? To even out the sound.
don't put pillow in snare. normally use pillow in bass drum. neway back in the days where i got no money, i D.I.Y bought masking tape, fold a few tissues into square shape, stick it on the tape, then stick the tape on the snare (offset to the middle). did it both top and bottom skin. I dun like taping all the way across the skin. looks too messy.
IS it necessary must fold tissue? If just direct stick the tape ok?
yup can. but need to stick more tapes to get a tight muffle sound. and like i said, i dun like my snare skin looks messy. if u are ok with it, just do it then
