It looks to me like Crush Acrylic drums. Then again the bass drum doesn't look like Acrylics...hmmm Or maybe it's a Drum Craft.

thanks people. i changed the stocked evans to G2 coated for rack and floor toms. they sounded more huge ! except the smaller rack tom is quite "bongo"-ish, a bit difficult to tune.

for snare, I changed to single ply power centre reverse dot. wow damn nice, very loud.

what bout bass drum skins? will it be different if i change them? now it sounded too "canon" like. want it to be more "tight and punchy"

What's your current bass drum skin? hmm.gif

Try tuning your reso 1/4th tighter then your batter.

anyone has a room or studio (small one) i can rent to set up my drums and practice till 4am without anyone banging on my door? I live in an apartment, tried the electronic drums, didn't like it.

I posted a thread in "Properties" already, but since all the drummers will be here, It would make more sense to ask around here.

Hi,

A double stroke roll is basically 2 strokes(hits) with 1 hand instead of 1 hit with 1 hand. So it's RRLLRRLL. smile.gif

As always practice with a metronome start from slow till you're comfortable then increase the speed.

Good Luck! icon_rolleyes.gif

The first skin I change is always the snare on the snare, and the next is always the bass drum. Try an EMAD Coated?

no need to understand. Just play LLRRLLRR then you are doing double rolls. Single rolls are RLRLRL.

Double rolls not really need use alot time. So most of time i use the bouncing trick wink.gif

Just wanted to give a heads up on a great deal on a used Axis Longboard double pedal on Soft.com.sg. Assuming the condition is almost new, it's the best deal I've seen on a piece of drum gear ever. Look at the seller's original cost, ouch. I got mine for lesser and believe me, I won't even go so low. Whoever gets it is a really lucky ******* haha.

The condition is not as what u see. I ask my fren to check the pedal for me. Rusty parts. The beater does not include the felt and if u dont mind using naked axis beater which i believe is plastic surface then its fine. If u check the history, it been advertised for so long and yet still on sale.. So anybody plannin to buy pls check by ur self...

Ooo damn... sounds like not so good deal haha :S
But first listed in Jul, not too long la. Might be able to restore the rusty parts too. Just a shame that the fella didn't take care of it... mine's possibly even older and it sees regular wear, never been kept in a bag/case but given regular TLC. Thought that it looked like mineeeee haha~~~

from the looks of it, not many play electric drums here? sad.gif

how do you guys sustain stamina for your kick drums? i'm only able to sustain for half an hour and then i'll start playing off beat. one of my pro friend places his whole feet down and raises only the front part of his feet, while i tend to have my whole feet up. his technique sustains stamina, but with his technique i find playing faster beats difficult.

what should i do to improve my kick drums? should i focus more on the technique, or should i just exercise the whole leg more?

Stamina is from practice with metronome. Start at a slow tempo for a period of time and do a few reps till you feel comfortable and then increase the intensity(tempo) While maintaining the amount of time used. Later on, after you feel that you can max out your speed while in sync with the metronome for a set amount of time then increase the time limit by a few minutes (small increment ie 2min) again make sure to do a few reps.

Remember don't tense up and just relax, also Speed is a by product of CONTROL so control comes 1st.

Yes IMO you should practice on a technique that suits you. I personally prefer the constant release method (a variation of heel toe) instead of Right leg HT then followed left leg HT this technique is done by Right leg Heel then left Leg heel then right leg toe and left leg toe so your feet are constantly releasing hence the name smile.gif

Here is what I'm talking about.

Hope I'd help smile.gif
