No bro..just normal tank sad.gif
Someone offer me 2nd hand jebo 383 that can run 1200 l/h..
is it ok with resun cl650?
*
Should be Jebo 838@1200l/h
see this -> http://www.my-mac.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=15314

For me i will go for eheim 2217@1000l/h @rm499 with free media, although abit underpower, but if reduce 30-40% of the media, should
be ok to power the chiller.
Just like my 2213 , i reduce media by 25% , still able to power my hailea HS-28A on my 2 ft.

Ppl using taiyocf1000 , said good. Maybe you can give that a try, quite cheap also at RM150 new , Bro weijie selling it.

Really, don't want go for 2ft? Higher water capacity, more easy to maintain water parameter. Im going 3ft or more for my next upgrade.

is it? in that case, i can start to scape lor.hehe.

how thick exactly the substrat to put?
*
how thick the substrate is depend how deep is your pocket , but not overly thick , for me minimum 2.5cm till 6cm max.
my 1feet tank soil is 2.5cm thick(Fluval stratum shrimp soil), the new 50cm(benibachi soil) one is around 3.5cm thick. The 2ft(ADA new amazonia) is 7cm thick(but this one is exception cos initially it was a planted tank).
What substrate you plan to use ? ADA new amazonia ? if ADA , need to cycle longer cos it leech ammonia for at least a months.

You can calculate how many liters of soil you need by using this formula -> Tank(Length) x Tank(Width) x desired soil height/10 ,
Let say you want soil to be 3cm thick in your 1feet cube tank , then (3 x 3) x 3/10 = 2.7litres.

is it normal for my male RCS to rape my new yamato?
from my observation, i see all my females are berried or in the process of berrying(eggs inside their body), is this the cause?

*
they only harassing, but normally the other way round cos yamato normally 2x size of RCS unless you got those junior yamato.

congrats .. remove the activated carbon if all things alright now as an exhausted activated carbon can release back toxin to the tank.

hehe. don't want lor. what is your opinion if i just use amazonia soil instead of using that malaya soil?huhu.because the soil will low the ph right?got dw summore.wonder how low is my shrimp tank water's ph. huhu hmm.gif
Use New Amazonia better , malaya tend to lower PH too much. i'm using New Amazonia in my main tank, PH is 6.4. so far so good ,
CRS, Neocaridina Shrimp all breeding , just discover my golden crs have given birth a week ago , saw a tiny little golden crs at moss(size like a week old).

nice fun tank , it is a 1ft cube ? seem all sand only.
Those baby CRS is ruining my eyes , they are half size of a Neocaridina Shrimplets, very hard to locate them , somemore gestation period is longer and give birth less shrimplets.

Haha my other shrimp tanks are like urs too, clean simple setup. Easy to maintain.  U can add some CRS to ur tank~
*
ya , my doctor into planted tank , he got one 2ft tank in his office, very nice of him.
ahemm on my next visit will get somemore cos his subwassertang always overgrow.

i added a lone golden crs into my 1feet fan cooled tank, a week now, she still survive but don't think they will breed at temp 27-28c.

@Arrow bro, do you wash your shrimp's tank sponge frequently? And how u wash it?Another thing do you put any kind of fert for your moss?
*
yes i do wash them bcos they clogged with debris , i wash it inside a plastic bucket with tank water or De-chlorinated tap water or aged water.
just squeeze them in the bucket to let out all the debris , do it 2 to 3 time.

I use BW lush, Seachem Potassium & iron once in 2 week. Half dose.

The respective fert you using izzit shrimp safe?i kinda noob on this. Because my current moss tank(without co2) dont use any fert and i also not sure whether should i or should not use any fert on it. Need more advise, as i prepare it to breed shrimp. This tank already 2month+
*
Confirm safe what I use, using those for > 6mths, just remember use half dose of what recommended on the bottle. fert other then the one I mention early you need to search if it shrimps safe in the internet.
Fyi borneowild growth is not shrimps safe but the manufacture reply me said it still can be use but half the amount.(of course I wont take the risk and exchange it to BW lush.)

bro, how many days to wait until water parameter stable?i just finished scaping my tank.hehehe. can't wait to see the result.hehehe.but just simple like your new cycled tank.hoho
*
Using ADA new Amazonia soil right?, first cycling your tank, this soil is notorious to continue leech ammonia for a month.
but it is a good soil nevertheless.
Be patient , after your tank is fully cycled then only worry about parameter. We will guide you from there.
i assume you have knowledge in cycling tank right?
Either way this is a good read > http://www.shrimpnow.com/content.php/253-Shrimp-Tank-Cycling

Thx for your info bro. From your previous post you had shared about your shrimp tank which contain CRS, do you use chiller to breed them? What your average tank's temp?I got plan to start it without chiller but still cant get home breeder so far. sad.gif
*
Yes, i'm using chiller temp is set to 24'C, CRS are breeding, most of the female got berried, notice 2nd batch of shrimplets emerging. First batch have grow double their initial size biggrin.gif

I'm now experiencing keeping crs in fan cooled tank, temp 26'c - 28'c,
so far the lone golden crs survive for more then a week, gonna introduce some more crs into the tank to try out.
Internet info state that at that temp it hardly breed but there is nothing to lose in trying.

I AFRAID MY FILTER MEDIA in my hob is insufficient for bacteria to cycle nitrogen in 2ft tank.huhuhu. the hob is as big as eheim liberty 1500l.huuu. can anyone advice on this matter? sad.gif
*
Remove one of those plug-in sponge that come with the HOB , put it more media, then add in one more air driven sponge filter in the tank.

put circular sponge on the inlet like those sponge filter, they can at least hold small amount of good bacta, but will greatly reduce intake flow when clogged IMHO
*
Those sponge filter give you best of both world -> aeration and filter, shrimps just love oxygen rich environment and extra filtration.
Those F1 media , you can just throw into the tank , can act as a hidden place beside growing more bacteria.
Imho planted tank emphasizes on layout and overall plant grow but shrimps tank we emphasizes on bacteria grow in order to help provide
a clean conductive environment for our shrimps to grow & breed.

ciohbu, ure still selling them? those steel mesh intake?
does it fit shiruba xb303, 2213 and medium size HOB filter? been eye-ing them for a long time lol.. but no courage to ask since i usually end up no money to buy hehe

*
The stainless steel mesh intake at NA is under brand Gush , got 2 size , 13mm & 17mm , 13mm can fit 2213 nicely,
for HOB i will take out the hob intake head and try there. At rm30++ quite expensive unless Mr.ciohbu can pre-order for us.
