Si Fu,

Any reason why I always see junior/small shrimps wandering around but the adult/big shrimps mostly hiding away? hmm.gif

just follow the dose on the bottle, it provide mineral and increase gh for the shrimps.
You mention your tank water is from river, this the reason why you have damselfly, those river water may have the damselfly eggs.[cool.gif
Malaya is safe to mix with any shrimps.

Even if water top ups throughout the week exceeds 15%?
*
actually it is only the water is evaporated, all the mineral, waste etc still remain in the tank. That why water change is important and only
proven way to remove waste.

Sigh...another dead shrimp this morning.

Last week's weather was off the charts.. up to 39C in my office area. Had the fan blowing full blast over the weekends and even so, water temp just now (after aircon on for a couple hours) is 31C.

Any DIY chiller ideas?

when temp high, try increase aeration(use air pump) to provide more o2 to the shrimps, fire red is quite hardy, i have keeping some without fan at 32'c.

Hmm, how about electrical fish tank chillers?

Or visit your friendly neighbourhood aquarium shop and ask for suggestions from the lou pan.

How big is your tank?

A fraction of the size of an electric chiller laugh.gif

It's just a pico tank... 10 liters.

Haha, I didn't mean the big industrial chillers. They have these mini aquarium chillers on ebay, see links:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ice-Probe-Chiller-...m-/111005262123

* Donno whether I can post url links? Mod, pls don't ban me.

Or cheapest fastest solution, carry your tank home till summer is over tongue.gif. Sad to know your shrimps are dying coz of the heat.
