Because the CPU and GPU shared the same cooling system. The GPU generate heat when it's enabled.. that heat will be distributed along the heat pipes. When u disabled AMD GPU, there is no heat generated hence lower temp..

here is something to share with for ppl using linux and yes!4g GO devices.

dl:
32bit - http://links.fikri.my/yes4g32bit
64bit - http://links.fikri.my/yes4g64bit

To install this, you need to run as super user. Navigate your terminal to this readme folder.

$ cd YOUR/PATH/TO/Yes\ Installer\ x86/ OR cd YOUR/PATH/TO/Yes\ Installer\ x64/
$ sudo ./install
[sudo] password for $USERNAME:

Then the installation will begin. Please connect to the internet before you proceed. After the installation is finished, you can connect to the internet using Yes Go using this command in terminal.

$ sudo connect4g start
[sudo] password for $USERNAME

Then you can connect with your Yes ID and Password. You can always close your terminal after the connection has established as it runs as background process. To disconnect from Yes, simply type:

$ sudo connect4g stop

Then you will be disconnected from Yes. This is the function that you can use with this application:

sudo connect4g -h : Help page
sudo connect4g –help : Help page
sudo connect4g start : Start Yes Connect
sudo connect4g stop : Stop Yes Connect

source: http://fikri.my/blog/yes-installer

another thing that if any1 came across this error
CODE

* Checking for connected internet connection. Please wait..
 * Internet not connected. Login now..
 * YES 4G username: a0186501529
 * YES 4G password: hushpuppy
 * Initializing connection..
 * Unknown error. Please unplug and plug in back your Yes Go

 * Press [ENTER] to exit.

try running the following codes:
CODE

sudo connect4g stop
gctwimax -D
studo connect4g start

tested and it works in Mint Linux 12 (debian/ubuntu 11.10 based)

i don't know about gnome 3 but on the old gnome 2 you can simply restart it by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace.
Another method is by switching to TTY by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F4/F5/F6(not sure if i remember this correctly) and run sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart. To go back just press Ctrl+Alt+F7.

What is you proc speed when u run sudo cpufreq-info in Terminal?

You're using on-demand CPU governor.. it is equivalent to balanced mode in Windows.

I have no idea about the missing taskbar and etc. sweat.gif
