new dv6 model got glossy white colour with design as well, seems like plastic to me, i saw it at computer shop
by the time ivy bridge comes out, change your HDD to SSD then you will feel the improvement like you are using a new notebook. lol

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 9 2012, 03:41 PM) There is a slim 65 watts adapter. i don't know about gnome 3 but on the old gnome 2 you can simply restart it by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace. Another method is by switching to TTY by pressing Ctrl+Alt+F4/F5/F6(not sure if i remember this correctly) and run sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart. To go back just press Ctrl+Alt+F7. What is you proc speed when u run sudo cpufreq-info in Terminal? HP standard warranty for their products not 1 year by default? i asked him again today, he said he changed the fuse then it works again

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Feb 28 2012, 03:41 PM) I have no experience with other cooling pad but i'm using CM U3 and it did the job pretty good. It has 3 moveable fans and you can control the speed. I'm not sure about current price but i bought it for RM75 many months ago. If you want better cooling, get a good table fan and blow it across while you lift the laptop with book or something else.. it will reduce the heat on left palm rest much better. the left palm rest area should be the HDD, i wonder if SSD will generate less heat. any ssd user can share experience?

I use Logitech M505 wireless mouse for first person shooter game, it's not as effective as using a wired mouse. i think it's still better to use wired mouse for gaming

QUOTE(storky20 @ Mar 1 2012, 06:47 PM) Help guys! In most of my videos with the built in TrueVision HD webcam, there's always a white outline at the bottom left part of the video. I suspect that the culprit is a small speck of dust that somehow manage to enter the glass casing. Before this, there wasn't an outline at all and no dust particle as far as I can tell. So anyone know of a way of getting rid of the speck of dust? the circle webcam lens can be taken out but it may affect the quality of image in your subsequent use. it's better that you bring it to HP Centre, they will most likely change a new monitor panel for you just like mine

QUOTE(nothingz @ Mar 9 2012, 08:10 PM) I have just purchased a 120GB SSD to replace my 750gb HDD for my dv6 notebook, at the same time i bought a Archgon USB 3.0 HDD Enclosure for my 750gb HDD. The SSD works fine on the notebook but then the 750gb ext hdd is detected on the Device Manager and 'safely remove hardware' but the partitions are not shown in My Computer.I have tried to connect on my XP desktop and Win 7 notebook but both also shown the same. Any advice? any solution to this? This post has been edited by nothingz: Mar 10 2012, 11:43 AM
