Anyone changed from HDD to SSD? I wonder what kind of enclosure (USB 3.0) exist out there. I am looking one for my HDD model TOSHIBA MK1059GSM. It's 2.5" 1TB 5400rpm 12.5mm. I looked for Archgon MH-2615 and MH-2612, as well as Hornettek 2.5" Panther HDD enclosure, just don't know whether it fits my HDD or not. icon_question.gif

my 750gb HDD is inside Archgon USB 3.0 external enclosure, forgot bout the model. either one of them will do

Hi Gurus,

I own a 6114tx (coming to a year old). Recently, I installed Witcher 2 - Assassin of Kings. When I selected "High" setting for graphics at the launcher, the gameplay & graphics rendering was horrible!
I suspected this had something to do with the CCC and switchable graphics thingy, so I opened it and tried to change to "High Performance". But everytime I click on "Apply" it goes back to "Power Saving".
I know there has been some discussion on this and I've tried to read up as much as I can but so far, I can't seem to find anything that resembles my problem.

Please help :-(

How horrible? Witcher 2 is really demanding.. even with latest patch you'll have trouble running it at 60fps.

Are u using Fixed switching?

I'm quite a noob so I don't know how to measure how "horrible" it is in technical terms, e.g. fps. What I can tell is that when I move the mouse around which is to view the surroundings, the lag makes everything blurrish. Also, when the Witcher (what his name....hmmmm?) walks, it is so slow. Combat was almost impossible......so I gave up in the end mad.gif

How do I know whether I'm using fixed or automatic switching?

HI Sifus,

Whenever i launch any game by setting the .exe file of the game to High performance in order to utilise the Radeon GPU, it tends to get super hot ..I've set Coolsense to the coolie-st mode yet within 5-10 mins into the game ..the heat just gets intensified ..:-) ..is it a norm?

Hi Sifus, i wanted to send my notebook dv6 to service center located at HP tower. Do i need to make appointment before go? Btw, usually take how long to repair my lappy or is it collect it on the spot?

My defect is the fan problem which detected when i switch on my lappy and the message will auto pop up during loading...

You don't need to make an appointment, last time I go, no people one. tongue.gif Usually it takes 2-3 days. It depends, or else you can send it early in the morning, file for urgent, then pay around 80-90 bucks for express servicing.

Any 2.5" enclosure should fit.. no? hmm.gif
*
I don't think so, because there are 3 types of 2.5" HDD out there, 7mm, 9mm and 12.5mm. Mine is the largest, if the enclosure cannot fit then have to buy another again, must do research properly. sweat.gif

By the way, anyone here using SSD? I don't have the product manual with me. Is it easy to disassemble the HDD and attach SSD?

If you're talking about the heat on left palm rest, it is normal. Check the real temperature CPU/GPU with OpenHardwareMonitor so we can decide whether its normal or not. laugh.gif

No you don't need to make an appointment. From past experienced by another user who went straight to the SC, it only took 2-3 days. 1 guy even get it on the same day but he's only reapply the thermal paste.

Alot of us extend the warranty. Cheapest so far is RM79 i think.. but that was 8-10 months ago. laugh.gif They bought it from TechHypermart website. I think normal price is between RM99-RM150.
