Hi, I'm relatively new here so please don't go on rage mode if I ask anything stupid. tongue.gif

Anyways, straight to the point, I noticed most of you have the 6001TX am I right? I'm planning on getting the 6c19TX.

Anyone here who has it could you please write a brief advice for me (maybe a review of the product so far?)

I'm planning to use it for gaming purposes, mostly Dota2.

Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

Too long to type... sweat.gif Why don't u ask something more specifics. tongue.gif

About Dota 2, it is playable@1366x768 with everything turn on including Ambient Occlusion and in-game Anti-aliasing. I get 60fps most of the time with gpu clocked at 800/900. I noticed the frame rates will drop around 50-55fps with Kunkka Torrent or Razor Ulti activated.

You can disable Wifi and Bluetooth separately with HP Wireless Assistant.. but i can't find the download link for it. sweat.gif

Maybe you can open device manager and manually disable wifi adapter there.

Added on March 9, 2012, 2:35 amYou can manually disable it from Start Menu>View Network Connections too.

I don't know if this method will disable Bluetooth together or not.

I think so.
Try include all .exe in Afterburner folder to use High-Performance?  sweat.gif

So this means no dynamic switching if using msi afterburner to overclock? dammit, i'm thinkin to overclock my GC so that the grafic is smoother when playing Skyrim. Or anybody have been successful with overclocking while still maintains dyn switching.

I only understood up till the word 60fps. Then you lost me blush.gif . Hahah. Okay, thanks. So you're using the 6C19TX as well?

I'm currently still stuck in between an Asus N55SL-2064v or the DV6-6C19TX. The one thing that's still hanging for me is the display resolution. The 1080p that the Asus N55SL offers is attracting me. But I do understand that the graphics card is a crippled version of the GT635M.

Hence, it's a question of graphics card and performance vs display and sound. rclxub.gif

Isn't it the replacement of N55SF-1515v?

Anyways, I'm not so sure myself. But Asus and this website claims it has 1080p. Anyways, if it doesn't have Full HD, and the N55SF is unavailable anymore, then there'd be no competition for the HP dv6-6c19tx. My choice would be dead fix on that then icon_idea.gif .

So please tell me it does not have 1080p and the N55sf is no longer selling to end my indecisive moment whistling.gif

usually asus website will list out option for the spec, but hows the model with actual spec in Malaysia depends of their/distributor decision .we call it option.
about the tech hyper, would u think its spec sheet listed out correctly ? so if i decide to buy the laptop from them ,according to their sheet, which display they offer ? fullhd ?hd +?hd?.. rclxub.gif if they offer customize , they can put like that, if no,,...totally doh.gif

for your info, the n55sf-s1515v was listed with hd lcd display only in asus malaysia catalog , but ,after some customer bought it ,they found out its come with full hd - we call it "bonus" , if it doest not come with full hd, u can not blame Asus for it..and you might ask other forumer, who the fist guy reveal the asus n55sf-s1515v come with fullhd wub.gif

about
n55sl-s2064v, as listed in reseller price list, come with HD+ only, and yet, the model not even shown in latest asus march/april catalog rolleyes.gif

Have you update Skyrim to v1.4+? brows.gif
I recalled long time ago someone posted that it was possible to overclock with dynamic switching, you just need to include MSI Afterburner or Sapphire Trixx into High Performance-GPU whitelist but recently everyone said you need to turn on Fixed switching. Maybe you can try and see if it work.. hmm.gif

As far as i know, DV6-6000 series doesn't have a backlit keyboard. There is one model of DV6 advertised by HP Canada have backlit keyboard but it's not.

Thanks for the explanation. I had no idea. You totally cleared all doubts and dilemmas.

Btw, another question, let's say I do get the HP dv6 6c19tx, if I get a 1080p external monitor and connect it to my dv6, will it be able to play games at 1080p?

Yes but you need to lower the graphic details. tongue.gif

Added on March 9, 2012, 4:56 pmIf you want to compare HD6770M/HD7690M XT with desktop GPU, the performance is between HD6570 and HD6670.

^ If I lower the graphic details, would it look almost the same as when I play it on my laptop monitor?

The reasoning I have in my head is;

720p gaming high settings: 9/10
1020p gaming high settings: 10/10
1020p gaming med settings: 9/10

Not quite sure though, as I'm still quite new. Haha. tongue.gif

I have no idea about that.. sweat.gif It probably work like how u said it and also depend on what game u playing.

If u're looking to game for high setting@1080P i suggest to look for G53SX. It's the cheapest gaming laptop with a decent GPU to play at 1080P imo. hmm.gif

I did give it some thought. But I'm a little thrown off by the weight of it (8 pounds!) and the price (RM 3999!). Anyways, thanks for the help icon_rolleyes.gif .

So now I'll go back to the drawing board to decide whether the extra 1k is justifiable for 1080p gaming. rclxub.gif
