You gonna need the Full HD cable from part surfer since the cable for 1366x768 screen don't have enough bandwidth.

For the screen, you can buy either B156HW0x or LG LP156WF1. These 2 screen already tested will work for DV6-6xxxx series.

Hey guys, got an issue with my WiFi I think.

I've been trying to connect with my uni's WiFi which DOES connect but it doesn't get Internet access according to Win7. Now, before you guys go "Contact ICT Support la", my phone (a modest Nokia X6) and other people's laptops are able to connect AND surf perfectly fine. This issue hasn't happened before since before I left, I used WiFi to surf while at home. The WiFi adapter on the laptop is able to detect other APs too but most are secured so can't really test...

Can anyone send me some commands (ipconfig something, i forgot) to try out to identify the problem? Some ping commands would help too.

Oh, and my ethernet connection works fine.

it happens to me when my nb can access the uni wifi but my fon cant or sometime the other way round. sometime, its just the uni wifi router dhcp server cacat only.

u can try to assign static ip address provided u noe yor uni wifi network id and subnet mask and gateway ip.

Skyrim prior to update v1.4 was very unoptimized. After update v1.4 i get around 40fps in Solitude and over 30fps in Markath. Previously i get around 25 in Solitude and 15-ish in Markath if i'm viewing the center of the town.  shakehead.gif
Wah, thats alot of difference. I cant do that until end of the month tho.. Still away & the internet connection here sux. doh.gif

Oh.. i read unifi's instead of uni's. sweat.gif
A full DHCP server could be the culprit too. Like Netto Hikari mentioned, try assign static IP.

Very nice!

So now you have a total of 2TB HDD space?  rclxms.gif

Added on March 7, 2012, 4:34 pmOn a side note, I am finally bluescreen-free on my DV6-6168TX.

Previously all my BSODs pointed to either atikmpag.sys or dxgkrnl.sys. They happened after waking up from hibernate. After POST, the screen would go dark for 10 seconds, then BSOD.

To fix this, I set the BIOS to "dynamic" graphics then using Leshcat's Catalyst 12.1 WHQL UnifL drivers, set it to use the Intel graphics for all applications regardless of whether or not the AC adaptor was plugged-in.

Finally no more BSOD. smile.gif

I use the DV6 for work and for a lot of Powerpoint presentations when I am away from the office, so no need for Radeon graphics. Perhaps when I start gaming, I'll set it to Radeon. smile.gif

Now back to 1TB, given the caddy and 1TB to my boss for his use. blush.gif Unfortunately I'm running Ubuntu on my unit and unable to wake up the ATI monster. Anyone has any luck with 12.04 beta? Since I don't have a spare 1TB anymore, won't be able to test it until next month.

Holy shiatszu!!!!

Okay, that's it. My dilemma is over. 6c19tx, here I come! brows.gif

One question though,

Has anyone here done this before? Could you please provide some feedback? hmm.gif

P.S.: The instructions in the link given looks extremely complicated. Don't know whether I'd dare to try this out with a newly purchased dv6 though. But it would definitely make the laptop display a whole lot nicer.

its not complicated at all. u just have to dismantle the lcd and replace the raw lcd panel and the cables.

Even your simplified instructions sounds complicated. Haha. But you're right. I'm overly paranoid. I'm just afraid I might get a dead pixel. All it takes is 1 dead pixel to spoil my hard work!
