1. How long you clean your room once?
  once a week

2. Type of fabrics for most of your clothes
    cotton

3. Brand of your shower cream and shampoo
using oilatum soap, Clairol herbal essence shampoo

4. Temperature/humidity of your living environment(if got working, please list your working place too)
at home it's normal room temperature, working & studying place is fully air cond

5. What time you sleep and what time you need to get up for work(if any)
i used to sleep late and wake up early (if i have something to do). but nowadays i'm trying to sleep by 11pm and getting up by 8 am since i read someone saying that sleeping early helps. and it really does help. i do sleep better now.

For atopic type:

1. Antihistamine not effective for your case, it making you drowsy and it wont aid you for better sleep quality.
Surprisingly, so far, no anti histamines make me drowsy. Even chlorpheniramine doesn't make drowsy  biggrin.gif

2. Olive oil is OK, but not so effective, try Vaseline.
tried vaseline but it's a bit too messy for me. olive is more manageable and lost longer on my skin.

Good then, it seems your skin type is not so dry like mine, currently my only prob is just sleeping time adjustment, since previously I late sleep till my whole body into emergency acute eczema phase once(it is very scary and suffering, hell/instant die is better feel than the acute type). When you sleep well, actually many problem/symptom of eczema can be solved easily.

I really understand the sudden itch. I still have it sometimes. It used to be really bad. I used to scratch so much. I hope you get to adjust your sleeping time and that your condition improves. i really hope so.

Haha Thanks la, currently my condition improving already... All need to be done is get my lifestyle corrected, the root of cause for my acute response is eczema inflammation caused by insufficient sleep repititively(dulu me stubborn insist sleep late despite working at 8.30am)

Check my previous post in this thread, it is hell to me during acute response.

Yeah, been trying to get that too but no luck.

Added on April 17, 2012, 11:59 amUpdate from February 2012:

I've been using Extra virgin olive oil on my skin since February 2012 til now and this is my take on it;

Pros
------
1. Keeps the moisture in the skin for the whole day. (I put it twice a day)
2. Much lesser itching
3. Lighter scars on the body (from scratching before lol)
4. Feels light on the skin
5. Very easy to buy
6. No need to take any medication

Cons
-------
1. Might be a bit oily immediately after application, but this dries very fast (about 5-10mins)

So, far that's all that i could think.

This is my personal experience and i will continue using this as I believe going natural is the best solution for eczema. I hope it helps someone out there thumbup.gif

Yes, very true. Diet is essential. I am currently taking cod liver oil capsules. However, i still haven't done an allergy test yet to eliminate all that i'm allergic to.

Good. Too much of oil is also a bad thing on other organs. Just double check to make sure it is not overdose. Moderation is required. Don't just taruh.. taruh.. wink.gif

Go for check up on the essential readings like cholestrol, gli, etc. wink.gif

Life is truly complicating. wink.gif

I've checked with a skin specialist, and olive oil is alright for the skin. I put twice a day (which is ok she says). But yes, too much of it might be a bit too much for the skin i guess....hehe smile.gif

And coincidentally, I just checked some of the important readings, and all are looking good so far smile.gif

Life might be complicated, but it's still very beautiful to just let it go away for a health problem. A lot of people here have helped me to understand my skin better and I really appreciate it smile.gif

I understand how you feel. I've went to so many skin specialists and spent so much of money as well. Go through the thread and you might find simple solutions that you can practice at home to make your skin better. Don't worry too much about it (stress makes itching worse, seriously). But don't ever give up. There are a lot of us facing the same thing. Controlling is the key with eczema as there is no 100% permanent cure.

Best wishes smile.gif

My gf have this problem too.
First the soap.
Second the food.
Third the bed. (if dirty can cause allergic rxn)
Forth the environment. (if too cold or hot also bad)
Fifth lack of protein. I just let her drink protein then her skin get better within 4 hours rclxms.gif

But of course she took injection at the hospital too.

No, it's not. I clean it often. Now, the itch is very much lesser. Very controlled i'd say.

I'm using Oilatum soap bar because it doesn't dry the skin. You can ask her to try it, see if it helps.

And do tell her not to get those injections, they're all steroid-based.

Eczema problems seems to be getting more common nowadays. One of my friend, her baby girl, now two years old, was born with eczema! Really sympathise with my friend because the baby will cry even at night, because of itch.

I work in The Far Infrared Centre and would like to share what I have learnt from our holistic consultant, who operates a holistic treatment centre in KL (you can check out www.amazinghealthcaresolution.com) . I know there are many people trying to sell things through various threads in the forum. Yes, our centre do promote far infrared (just like skin specialist will advertise and promote their services etc). We are not a MLM company but one that truly believe in health through education, not medication.

If you will do a google search, you will discover that far infrared has been and still is being clinically researched in a few countries and also being used for treatments in some hospitals in Taiwan. In Malaysia, this non invasive therapy and how it benefits our health is relatively little known, hence at our centre, it is our mission to promote this knowledge, hence my visit to this forum.

First of all, a little on the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) diagnosis on eczema. Eczema (and other allergies) is very much due to a weakness of the liver. The liver (together with other organs) governs more than 500 health functions of the body, including detox of toxins and pathogens, regulating hormones, strengthening immunity and so on. Therefore, when our liver suffers, we get into all sorts of troubles including eczema, migraine, menses problems, diabetes and so on. This is the root cause of eczema and that is why when we use creams, it helps only to control but after the effects are gone, eczema surfaces again.

Why is it sleeping early helps? Our body operates on a circadian rhythm. At 11.00pm - 1.00am, our liver is doing its job and we need to be asleep at this time for the liver to rejuvenate. When you are consistently sleeping past this time, you are hurting your liver. That is why in so many comments on this thread, sleeping early has helped the eczema condition. Young people must especially take care of their liver now by sleeping early to avoid more health problems.

There are also some who mention that going for acupuncture and ecoparadise helped. Yes, this is because both of these increases our liver strength by increasing our 'chi'. If you can find ways to effectively increase your 'chi', your liver will improve and so will your eczema!

For those considering steroid, this is harmful to your liver. Why do you suffer side effects? These 'side effects' are your body trying to detox from the poison the steroid brings to the body. Many suffer from all kinds of side effects for years, especially when they have taken steroid for polonged period. Steroids do not solve the root of your problem, it gives relief of your symptoms only (just like most medications do).

Talking about relief, it is better to use natural products, as mentioned in some posts, like coconut oil. Another good relief the holistic centre uses is peppermint oil combined with citrus extracts.

Yes, some also mention about stress. Stress brings about negative 'chi' to our body. If we are always stressed up, we will not have peace of mind nor peaceful sleep. Stress relief is arguably one of the most important factor to good health.

Why do we promote far infrared (FIR) therapy? Because FIR increases our 'chi' much like doing taichi, acupuncture(unblocks our meridians, removing pathogens) and Ecoparadise anti-oxidant (releasing negative ions and detox) materials. This in turns strengthens our liver and not only the liver, but the heart, lung and kidney as well.

What kind of FIR product do we recommend then? We recommend the FIR Tourmaline home sauna, which emits both FIR and negative ions (to combat free radicals). Why do we recommend this?

1. It goes to the root of our health problems
2. It is cost effective, as the whole family, from young to old, can use it
3. It is economical to use over a long period of time as you can actually reduce your medical bills and need for medications and supplements
4. It enables us to detox at the cellular level (our cells are laden with all kinds of toxins due to our unhealthy eating and lifestyle)
5. It enables us to de-stress

How has the results been so far on eczema problems? I think it is best for all you internet savvy people to do a google search "Far Infrared and eczema" to read for yourselves the clinical researches done in Japan. Meanwhile, closer home, you can check out our website :

Hi guys..
I know this is too late but i was wondering if i could get some volunteer who has chronic eczema and would like to try something non steroidal base. Yes there is no cure, but you can always reduce the flare occurrence:-)

im a pharmacist and ive recently started a pharmacy specifically for skin conditions in USJ 4.(www.skinpharmacy.com.my) Its something new in Malaysia but pharmacist specialising in certain diseases is quite common in overseas.

Along with that, i have also gone for a course to make skincare and cosmetics. now Im making things specifically for troubled skin. ( who says problematic skin cant use fancy nice skincare. i have eczema and psoriasis and my skincare is all awesomely coloured and nice fragrance! You just have to make sure the ingredients is ok)

So anyway; Ive just formulated a cream that has all 3 properties: Its moisturising, it has barrier that stops water from in to go out and a humectant that absorbs water from surrounding that should be used by troubled dry/ eczema skin to reduce flare. My active ingredient in the cream is (synthetic) urea (high dose) and unrefined shea butter.

Its a little bit more thick as compared to other creams but so far i've got some awesome reviews with min side effects. Most of my volunteers have been using strong steroids like clobetasone (Dermovate) and such. However, i need more people to try it out. Please let me know if you are interested or you think there is someone who you know might be interested. Its FREE!

If you have any enquiry or need any help for any kind of skin problems, im just a phone call away or pm me:-)

Any natural food which can stop inflammation other than steroid? Bcoz whn I have flare up nothing seems to work except steroid. I had full body eczema which always keep coming back on and off which has no end.

Using steroid on my face will cause redness so I try to refrain myself from using it as much as I could. My skin usually dry and flaky and I have to keep using moisturizer.

Now I need to be careful of eating sweet food. Even eating lot of rambutan will cause me to flare up

Anyone with helpful tips is much welcome
