QUOTE(yinchet @ Oct 19 2012, 11:01 PM) could you define powerful fighter jet? so we need more powerful radar only right to coop with our fighter jet?Malaysia have sufficient ability to shoot down jet fighter as long as we can detect it. powerful fighter jet i know like B-2 and Super Hornet, my military knowledge not much... i watch movie, fighter jet can be undetected by radar if flying very low? that myth or truth? |

Our SU-30MKM already have a very powerful radar. perhaps 2nd batch MKM would get an even more powerful radar. jet fighter can be undetected when they fly on very low altitude which is very dangerous. |

QUOTE(apisfires @ Oct 19 2012, 11:06 PM) so we need more powerful radar only right to coop with our fighter jet? yep quite right, but that can be solved with Gap Filler radar.powerful fighter jet i know like B-2 and Super Hornet, my military knowledge not much... i watch movie, fighter jet can be undetected by radar if flying very low? that myth or truth? the radar focused more in filling where normal radar could not cover esp in the lower airspace (under normal radar scan) and between mountain ridge or valley. but like yinchet said, it is dangerous for jets to fly under radar cover as Malaysian have many mountain and highland that could be tough to maneuver in high speeds. btw! apis... QUOTE(haji_george @ Oct 4 2012, 10:41 AM) work keliq ckp our Exocet missile tak power berbanding harpoon.. futhermore dia ckp underwater launch exocet from scoprene sama version mcm fast attack craft... malas nak argue sbb abg dia navy. The exocet that we have is block 2 version which still use solid fuel rocket engine. So it won't go very far. publicized range is 70km compared to harpoon's 130km and otomat 180km. but harpoon and otomat use turbojet engine.tat y dia exsyen saja... tp rasa mcm tak betul saja... anyone here got answer. TQ TQ QUOTE(OlgaC4 @ Oct 19 2012, 02:34 PM) Is there any missile that lock on the plane without the knowledge of the pilot? Certain fighters like Mig-21 have very small frontal aspect. during cope India, US F-15 found out they couldn't detect India upgraded MIG-21 on approach until they are well within range of the Mig's R-77. yes India MIG-21 can launch the Adder. in fact, in the USAF threat list, India's upgraded MIG-21 rank higher then the MKI.That day 2 F15 indonesia jets were locked on. But on radar they see noting at all. Maybe F22 or F35 QUOTE(apisfires @ Oct 19 2012, 11:06 PM) so we need more powerful radar only right to coop with our fighter jet? We and singapore already have the most powerful airborne radar in this region. Our MKM can act as a mini-awacs if there's need.powerful fighter jet i know like B-2 and Super Hornet, my military knowledge not much... i watch movie, fighter jet can be undetected by radar if flying very low? that myth or truth? |

QUOTE(apisfires @ Oct 19 2012, 11:58 PM) before this we ever have enemy who use this maneuver before on our air? i know some information like this very high security level... There were a lot of fuss about Singapore enter in our airspace in parliament.my late uncle was army helicopter pilot before his pass away 3 years ago, his salary very gooding and my aunty got very high pencen, lucky who work as army pilot at TUDM... of course gooners However the Singapore deny such allegation. The were also a few rumors about some action in our airspace. arteyu might share some with you. QUOTE(OlgaC4 @ Oct 20 2012, 01:06 AM) I see. I'm not surprise they love to put funny news there and here.Anyway there were no F-22 stations in our region. F-35 is still underdevelopment unlikely to seen 1 in our region as well. There are no reason for Russia and india to test PAKFA to be in indonesia airspace. The same for China. |
