haha..finally she does eat...but now..she like pellet more than fruits... maybe because she can actually has the chewing sensation?
not quite sure about that but she likes to like n try to bite new stuff...but still a quiet fella...never make noise..much better than my friend's suggie..
*
The fun thing about suggie is, they have a "individual personality". Some gliders like pallets, some don't like. Some run & hide when you on the lights, some still play around even with lights on. It all depends on their "upbringing", so depending on the environment that they grow up in & the amount of attention that they received, they'll behave differently.

Guys, is it possible for me to keep the glider in my bedroom? Will they be too loud? I'm planning to get one and will be able to spend whole of my day with them.

Do you have wheels? Does the glider have company?

If there are wheels, it will be annoying at first but you'll get used to the sound later on.

Single glider tends to bark out of loneliness. Will be hard for you to sleep and can often woke you up. Although there are exceptions. Ted, my old glider is now used to being alone and no longer barks at night.

I used to put the cage next to me when I was sleeping, the 4ft cage.

There are 2 types of noises that may bother you. One is the your glider makes e.g. barking, hissing, crabbing etc. This one can be managed if you look after your glider properly. But occasionally you'd get some barking here & there.

The second type noise is the noise from your glider's activities e.g. chewing, jumping around the cage, playing with the toys etc. Well I don't think there's anything you can do with the jumping & chewing. As for the toys, I'd suggest you to get "soft" toys e.g. tiny pillows, ropes, furballs etc. So when they play with those kinda toys, it won't be as noisy as if you put hard solid toys.

As for letting it roam around you room, well it's strongly recommended that you be aware where your glider is. They get into the weirdest accidents, some times you don't even know how it happened. Like I heard of someone who let his glider run around the bedroom & then he fell asleep. Next morning he woke up with a flatten glider under him. Or when you move around & accidentally sandwiched your glider. My case was I let my glider roam free in the bathroom, then next morning I woke up finding my glider swimming in the toilet bowl. I did close the lid & it's pretty heavy, till now I got no idea how & why she squeezed herself through that heavy lid & dived into the bowl.

Yeah his partners died last year. Initially he keeps barking during my sleeping time, but I just woke up and calm him down.

Nowadays he just can't be bothered with me anymore. lol

How to train the glider from not making noise itself? As long as not too often like bark whole night then I'm fine haha. I'm just planning to get one. Will be getting a 86cm cage and place it beside my bed. Also eyeing on some DIY toys and pouches now. Hehe. I'm worried of the peeing and pooing.. what if they aim at my bed......

You can't train them not to make noise. Noise essentially is a form of communication. It's like how I can't tell you not to complain if you're hungry or you're bored, just wait it out or something like that.

So that's why I said those kinda noise can be reduced (not 100% gone) if you look after your glider properly. If it's barking whole night long that means something is wrong & your glider is trying to communicate it with you. Normally barking means they're lonely & need someone to play/accompany them.

The 86cm is a 2ft cage, it's not really the ideal cage for gliders in the long term. I have both 2ft & 4ft, the 2ft one is more for the babysitter when I'm away on a holiday cause it's a bit of a hassle to move the 4ft cage around. Once they grow bigger, you'd want the 4ft cage so that they got enough room to jump around.

Pray hard I get a silent glider hahaha! Erm it's about 86cm. Almost 3ft la. Cause my room itself already small. Can't fit in big cage. As for the glider. It'll be let out whole day/ I'll bring her along. The time for her to be in the cage is only night time when I'm sleeping..

Well, gliders need a lot of rest. They don't exactly jump & run around whole night long. I did stayed up whole night before, mine got sleep few hours at night one.

So yea, when you do bring your glider out....try to avoid noisy places or do things that will disturb it sleeping a lot.

I have a urgent concern to look into. One of my female glider have a potential swollen eye and she refuse to let me hold her to do a closer inspection. If I need to send her to the vet, how am I going to handle her during the consultation? The bonding between me and the her isn't strong yet and I usually have to rely on the male glider to get her attention.

Current eye condition is that there is some white discharge beside her eye and slight swell at the bottom.

Just book an appointment with a vet ASAP before it's too late. Your glider's health is at stake, http://suggiesathome.com/category/health/
