QUOTE(uncleherp @ Jan 12 2012, 09:02 AM) I've seen people using netting laundry basket with zippers in place of the explorarium... Is it possible for SG to bite thru the nylon netting and escape??? It's possible. I've should have taken a picture of my laundry basket that got destroyed by my glider, she bit off the laundry basket plastic. Since it's quite hard, it happens over a period of time. So if the nylon netting is soft & your glider likes to bite a lot, it's possible to escape over a few hours. There are some people that offers boarding services for SGs. Either that or find some friends that you can trust your SG with for several days. I think it's safer that way. This post has been edited by NightHeart: Jan 12 2012, 02:30 PM |

QUOTE(ix3Rukia @ Feb 12 2012, 11:33 AM) customer give apple , hpw , cat food , mealworm. How come still turn yellow colour? I had 1 female too, which became a bit yellowish until I put a stop to it. @jit Hmm my customer have only 1 female with her , so i dont think marking will happen. Her sg fur just randomly turned yellowish slowly in 3 weeks D: Gliders are messy eaters, the yellow is from the HPW & apples. Their skin get rubbed against the HPW plate/bowl which stains their skin. Although they clean/groom themselves well but it can't be 100% perfect. Same goes to the apples, when my glider carry the apple around, it rubbed against her skin especially the belly. After some time, those stain will grow yellowish. Urine too, she peed and then jump/run/dropped all over her own pee. Thus staining her skin again. After some time running around she gets tired, fell asleep & the stain dries on her skin. Making it harder to clean when she finally wakes up & start cleaning herself. Btw, add more papayas to the fruit diet. It'll save the gliders from HLP. And reduce the mealworms & catfood, it'll prevent the glider from getting obese. QUOTE(quineechow @ Mar 14 2012, 10:35 PM) i tried looking for pure cranberry juice in jaya jusco but they don't have Try Jaya Grocer, Cold Storage or any organic shops. There should be 100% pure cranberry, non-concentrated ones & without any thing added into it. It'll cost approximately RM30 - RM55 depending on the brand. I was just hunting for juices over the weekend cause my glider has constipation issue for quite some time already. But I failed to realize it sooner cause my current joey's hissing sound is totally different from my previous glider (can't recognize the sound). |

Uh uh....number not in service hmm. Looks like have to go without calling. I'm experiencing the same thing too, after feeding the cranberry juice for few days, the hissing toned down. Now just hiss occasionally only & not that loud anymore. But I thought of visiting Dr Jenny too. |

Normally people just neuter the male, cause it'll not only prevent babies but it'll also reduce the smell.
If I'm not mistaken, unlike dogs & cats, gliders don't simply mate with each other. They only mate with partners that they've bonded with. |

It depends on you, if you spend lotsa time with them, you can wait longer. Or else, maybe get the 2nd one half a year later?

QUOTE(emara91 @ May 17 2012, 01:55 PM) Hi all!! 1) HPW only = NOT OK. Refer to Flextro's menu, should be something like that minus the mealworms.I'm a newbie here wan 2 ask ques to the sifu regarding my SG: 1)I feed HPW Instant or HPW Ready only for the main diet? Is it ok? 2) My SG sleeps all the time day & night. I hve 2 take her from d sleeping pouch 2 play wif her.Is that normal? 3) Do I need to switch off the lights to play with her?I'm not sure she can differentiate night & day since my house is always light up Please help me. THanks! 2) Sometimes it happens, you can set their biological clock by waking them up regularly at a certain time. 3) Switching off the lights might make them more "natural" since they're nocturnal after all. But I'd like to train my SGs to get used to fluorescent lights (can't imagine playing with them in darkness forever). QUOTE(Flextro @ May 17 2012, 11:51 PM) Hey all.. Im new here.. Two weeks is still new. Let him bond with you more first, refer to 1st page for bonding tips.I just bought my male SG (Mika) for two weeks now, the seller said, Mika was 3 months old. So far everythings is good. Still learn and get tips from here. I gave him apple, pear, broccolli, HPW, 100% fruits juice (baby food) and mealworm twice a week. Well, from day 1-5 he act like tame already. Can crawl on my body and he love to lick my neck, bite my hair. But two days ago, he act different till now. He mad crabbing/attack me like hell, scratching & bite. Act like wild, fighting to escape when i try to hold/touch him and totally unrecognize me. Whats wrong him? either Mika being stress or i gave a wrong food? How to make him calm? I dont want to make him stressed. Should i leave him alone for 2-3 days without hold/touch him? ~helppppp!~ |

QUOTE(quineechow @ May 20 2012, 12:25 PM) i just got mealworms yesterday (VERY GELI They get plenty of protein from the HPW already, so mealworms are excess proteins. Maybe once a week? Too much protein will make the poo smell bad if I'm not mistaken. Regarding mealworms care, just throw some food like bread or veggie or biscuit for them to eat. Let them eat until fat fat only feed your SG lol. |

QUOTE(gliderhamsterreen @ May 24 2012, 04:53 PM) Is there a way to make sg not to be afraid of the light? Mine won't even come out if there is light. It has been 5months. How am I gonna play with her if in the dark?can't even see a thing. Fluorescent lights? I guess it's a matter of making them adopt to the new environment. Maybe you can start by warm lights instead of bright lights? |

QUOTE(El Sol @ Jul 22 2012, 12:56 AM) Hey guys, I just got my 2 sugar gliders few days ago, I bought the female one and a good breeder gave me the male one. The male is bonded with me straight away, but the female is semi bonded. They sleep a lot sometimes. Try staying up whole night long, maybe you glider wakes up around 3am or 4am. So if you stay up, you'll see them getting active. Now the problem is that the female sg always sleep, on day or night. Is it normal? |

The "Instant HPW" is actually HPW Complete. You just need to stir the HPW Complete powder with water.
For HPW Plus, you still need to buy your own honey & boil eggs, then blend it with the HPW Plus powder. This blended mixture gotta be stored in fridge as well. Although the HPW Complete seems really easy, but take note that it's so much more expensive. One packet of HPW Complete is already more expensive, on top of that, it finishes easily 2 times faster as well. |

QUOTE(jitshiong @ Aug 4 2012, 04:09 PM) It was my personal experience sadly >.<I just took her out of her smelly cage & sniff her, smells alright. Then I noticed it's from the rotting small lil bits of fruits on the bottom of the cage. Now, back to keeping at bathroom. Everyday wash every leftovers down the drain. |
