Need some advice on the GPS. Just installed PAPAGO X5 on the SGS2 and tested it yesterday on the road. I found that for some reason, the GPS seems to lose signal easily. Tested with GPS Status and another GPS software for the signal.

When i use PAPAGO, driving on the highway, sometimes, the PAPAGO will freeze for a while (i suspect it lost the GPS) and won't move, sometime later when it picked up the signal again, it'll jump to the current location and proceed. I don't have such problem with my old HTC Desire...

Samsung phones seems like having a lot of GPS issue (including the original Galaxy S ...)...anyone have solution or similar experience?
*
Never have such issues at all using papago X5 on my previous SGS II. I am using original paid version. It is infact very good and is many times, maybe hundred times better than the older SGS , whose GPS sucks big time

Most samsung charger seem to be the same. My Ace and SGS2 have the same charger details. I believe most of their batteries are designed the same just different capacity.

Isn't BLN related to kernel. If you just want BLN then get a kernel that supports BLN and of cos get the app from market as well. There is no need to change rom just for BLN.
*
thanks haha, will search for other kernel which works with sensation ROM

I can't seem to find an official online store to buy the original X5. Where can I do so?

My papago is ahem one...not that i dun wanna buy ori, but the ori dun have Malaysian version? I saw chinese version or some other languages, so no point buying... (in fact, Papago is the only ahem software i use on my phone). Btw, what is "Sensor Aiding" in the Location and Security menu??

Also, X5 is kinda expensive and suck compares to the newer version....i bought the Papago M7 for my wife's BADA Wave 2, it is better and can enter co-ordinates and cost only RM49.50!!

tempted. But some anecdote states that it is not as stable as Papago. can only afford to buy one atm, so cannot compare.

Which one to choose? For Samsung Galaxy S or Android?(Since there is no S2)? I think it is overpriced btw....when a superior M7 version can be bought for RM 49.50 for Samsung BADA platform...doh.gif...

I wish there is a PAPAGO ONE for Android like those on Dedicated GPS.

Refer page 1 post#7 for download link for Msian maps ( sign in register as member and maps are free ) and purchase of papago X5
Sygic cannot use MFM maps - you can use coordinates for navigation

Don't think it is worth to buy X5. Sygic is a better option. Or can just use Google Navi (brute).. FOC.

Yeah...not plannning on buying...since already got a Dedicated GPS....it's just nice to have...if newer version of PAPAGO or latest Garmin, then i'll consider!! Paying RM100 for old software with serious limitation (no co-ordinates entering!!! doh.gif)....is just so not worth it.

Why MFM dun wanna support Papago??? shocking.gif....Yeah, i hope you are right about Garmin coming to Android...it'll be stupid to ignore the Android market...they can make much more money selling to the hundreds of millions users rather than waiting for people to buy their Garmin GPS.

Actually, Garmin already have the software on Android in the old ASUS Android phone....no news was heard after that last phone.
