I'm thinking on getting one since the price is really attractive for a Tegra Dual Core tablet, but it always good to have feedbacks from users first

via custom rom I guess, however 3G connectivity only for data, no sms/voice.
Besides, from the reviews the LCD screen has many disadvantages..
I wonder I there is anyone had bought this tablet.

the led display is good... but.... too much reflection due to the low cost panel..

to sum up, u cannot view the tablet from other angles... colours will be washed out.

hold the tablet facing u for best view

this one flashable to honeycomb..i just help my customer flash it 2 days ago..the performance i can say is much more smooth than galaxy tab 10.1 stock rom..the drawback is the screen..almost unseen when expose to sunlight..

how about battery life?

average..worse than galaxy tab..this price tag u can't complaint so much..sumore it got full usb port which most of the tablet don't have.

i got check some post before~ i tot this one come with only 1xx mb internal storage singe 512 - system all file = 1xx

which custom rom are u running, there are a few, vegacomb , viewcomb etc.

pls confirm there's no gps function in the wifi only version.....

aih...why 7 inch more expensive than 10...

i'm so interested in this thing, the only problem is that i can't find any detailed tutorials on how to flash to honeycomb. is this the way:

1) root it using z4root
2) flash moddedstock v2?
3) boot into cwm and flash vegacomb rom?

if can root,then can move to micro sd.
just google, u can find some tutorial,also can search thru youtube, got 9 minute tutorial

i watched it before, it's for viewcomb rom, is it the same method as vegacomb? and the viewcomb thread in xda was closed, vegacomb still running. and a lot of ppl said they can't boot into recovery using the exe to install, whereas using moddedstock v2 can go in

yes, can use, they are the same

viewcomb has no support now.. the developer has stopped due to some arguments

im using vegacomb

gps function is only for 3g version

this tablet doesn't have market pre-installed, however there is a solution for this.

theres around 300mb memory available after u flashed honeycomb

u can always move ur apps to sd card anyway.. some can

after u flashed custom roms or even a modded stock rom you ll get a market dy.. no worries here

if the reviewer is not biased, there is no reason to get a more expensive tablet as GalaxyTab or iPad!

Just bought my Viewsonic Viewpad 10s WIFI + 3G Pretty decent except the screen resolution could be better. Yeah jwyong001 flashed mine to honeycomb. Cool dude if u need to root and flash rom he is the guy you wanna talk to :-)
I'm not complaining too coz the price is really cheap. Don't compare to those high end ones. I guess the high end ones will hv good resolution. I can live with mine considering the price I paid for.

I got myself a digi smartplan and the 3g works out fine.

Overall, a decent tablet and only drawback is the screen resolution and lack of accessories or should I say none at the moment that is made for Viewpad 10s.

How is the battery life for this tablet?

Yeah RM699 but reason being this price is because they took out the 16GB microsd card. If u add the sdhc is gonna be ard RM780 assuming the 16GB is abt RM80. Btw I wanna sell my 16gb and upgrade to 32gb. If anyone buying fr u know where and want a 16gb, I sell for RM60 :-) so u can save more.

Battery is decent 6-8hrs shd be alright. I'm so used to keep charging my htc phone that this tablet the same I charge whenever I get the chance so hv not really tested the batt yet.

Yeah supports full flash. Playing Kongretgate Arcade on my viewpad :-)

regarding with your battery estimation before, is with wifi or 3g connected? Or just idle/standby?

with screen off idle it can last for 2-3 days

Its ok. So far this tablet problem is the screen rite? I still haven't decided to get this tablet or Galaxy W. My nokia x6 still serves me well, at least true for phone/sms functionality. My purpose on getting this tablet is for email/social/web browsing and reading pdf ebooks. Do u recommend to do so? Is the screen problem acceptable for reading or browsing?

I have contacted Directd for the detail, it cost another rm100 to upgrade honeycomb/vegacomb. Besides rooting will void the warranty. I'm asking my brother to come and check the tablet first since I'm too far away. If everything went smooth, I'll have this tablet as soon as next week, otherwise it will be end of this month

rooting is not hard.. installing the driver for viewpad in ur computer is tougher. u need to get the usb cable separately as it is not included in the set

however charging 100 for rooting is insane

Hint hint contact jwyong001 for upgrade. Mine works fine with honeycomb. Yeah I needed to buy a USB to USB to upgrade my Viewpad. As I sad its a decent pad nothing to shout abt. Im using HTC nexus one amoled screen and that is sharp compared to this Viewpad but I can live with it coz I bought it rm699 :-) hope this answers ur question.

I alien : I bought titanium backup app to move most of my apps to sd. After having over 160 apps + system apps my rom memory is still abt 120mb :-)

THe reviewer is biased as I have up to 10-12 hours on my previous Galaxy tab

I just bought this viewpad 10s at 699 3g + wifi add rm80 for 16gb as 32gb they sell for rm250 which is ridiculous at 3 times more of 16gb and 3% credit card charge. My comment on this is the shop's employees are ok except for the 1 bigger built guy ( suppose is the owner) who has the kind of "I know everything" attitude. Bought it for my 10 yr old daughter as xmas. Conclusion - cant access google android market, too sensitive touchscreen, viewing angles and design but at 699 cant complain much. The 7 inch has call capability thats why its at 799.
Now I would like to seek advise on how to upgrade to honeycomb by rooting ( complete guide pls as I'm no expert on this ). void warranty is ok. Read somewhere in the net that said ram can be upgraded to 2gb. Is it true? Oh, bal memory as new is about 250mb thereof.

Anyone, pls welcome to comment. Thank you.

rooting and flashing custom rom will void ur warranty but u can simply revert back to original firmware before claim warranty..

the most difficult part is step 1..u need to catch up the timing to enter the recovery mode..the timing hard to predict..some say 1 sec,some say 2 sec etc..u need to practice a lot of time..

viewcomb's thread in XDA was closed therefore no more support for it, u should put vegacomb in the first page, it's still going on. fyi viewcomb actually came from vegacomb with some modifications.

I still prefer viewcomb..both is nearly perfect..just flash anyone and wait for ics..

yeah I agree with u on the "I know everything" guy. He has some attitude problem and not very helpful. I felt they are not very straight forward with their answers. they will just say yes to anything just to close sales even it does not exists. maybe biz too good non stop customer walking in. I made them install android mkt for me but I later upgraded to honeycomb.

today can totally explore my new viewpad got some problem with internet connection,hopefully jywong will help me later..

can u tether viewpad with iphone 3gs? i read in net 3gs has adhoc wifii which is not supported by many tablets.

is this tablet stable enough to use? how about the screen? i read that it is too sensitive. will upgrading to honeycomb helps with the screen/perfomance/stability?

if this tablet good enough to play basic games and play downloaded youtube videos (flv and avi) that is ok already. i've tried a couple of cheap tablets but all was very unstable.

according to certain review, sometime it will crash when opening gallery. I'm not sure if honeycomb will settle this problem, but looking for the price with tegra 2 inside, its a perfect choice. I'm sure youtube video can play very well in this tablet. As long as connection is fast enough and stable.

Yes very stable aft upgrade to honeycomb. Almost all hd games very smooth. Games like angry bird no problem at all. Sure it gets hang once a while but all seems well. YouTube all very smooth.

this tablet suit ur needs but remember upgrade to honeycomb is a MUST
