hi...i just bought d wifi version today. i want to flash honeycomb but i found out there r 2 or 3 versions out there, d viewcomb 3.2 build 7.1, vega comb 3.2 build 9n update 3 and also honey ice beta 2.2 (vintage and non-vintage). do u guys know which is da best in terms of stability in internet surfing, movie and gaming??

just took d plunge yesterday and installed viewcomb 3.2 build 7.1..d latest 1. everything works great...but default browser FC alot and need to use opera for internet. Also USB thumb drive usually reported as damage when connected to d pad. then, today i restarted it and it failed to boot and just showing d starting fastboot usb download protocol text..its a known bug. i'm trying to flash version 6.3 now and see what happens.

i got that too...but not too sever...d problem is called overly sensitive screen i think. it's like using d stock froyo v1.10 that d tablet comes with. to fix this (to some people) is by using d touch screen calibration tool that come with viewcomb 3.2. Find d blue icon with white shuttle on d main screen (or app screen) named Shuttle and just press on d calibration button (dont touch d screen while calibrating)...and hope for d best.

Yup,rm70 is like taking advantage to newbies.I heard d shop keeper charge rm80 for just installing viewcomb...which d easiest to install. D screen view angle is d worst i`ve seen on a tablet...like vertical angle +-5° only.but picture quality is decent tho'

i applied a matte screen protector on my iphone once...it defo reduced d reflection alot. but d problem i think is not d reflection but rather d poor viewing angle which cant be fixed. finding a screen protector and leather case is very hard ...coz until now i still cant find one specific for this tablet.

would be nice if our bro singa89 can share to our bro forumers here

dunno about online...but i bought d tablet from his shop @ PJ SS15.

got inverted tilt sensor when playing air penguin...and also force close on bang bang racing...maybe not all games are compatible with this tablet.

u should install some memory management apps to free more ram automatically...as for internal memory...need to install Link2SD app (recommended) to move apps (or force) to micro SD...even d unsupported ones like pinball THD and other games. after 25 plus games...my internal mem still got more than half...provided u install link2sd.

u must set your tablet to USB Host mode...u can do this from Shuttle software (d blue icon with white shuttle on it). After that u can access files on your thumb drive from eFile -> /mnt/usb/system_usb. as reminder tho'...not all thumb drives are supported by this tablet...dunno why. For HDMI...u just turn on your TV and set source to HDMI and connect your tablet...it'll mirror display ur tablet automatically. If u got HDMI problem like not full screen...u need to update ur viewcomb to 3.2 build 7.1 or vegacomb 3.2 9n+update 3 or honey ice RC2.1.

But u need to create 2nd FAT32 partition on ur microSD card do use link2sd. If u wanna try...just download and install pinball THD...and try move d program to microSD by using link2sd.

Havent tried vegacomb yet...but if u r a newbie...just install viewcomb 3.2 build 6.3...it's d easiest to install and stable/safe enough for everyday use....but stay away from build 7.1 coz it still got d USB fastboot bug....u'll get black screen when booting.

no need to root. for installing vegacomb 3.2 from stock rom....u need to 1st flash ur tablet to Moddedstock v2. Then, install thru' CWM build 9n and also update 3. All instructions can be viewed from Here.

For latest update (RC2.1)...u can also try honey ice from Here.

What rom u'r using? If stock froyo then its really sensitive. Try install viewcomb 3.2 build 6.3, u can feel d diff.d problem is worst if u r charging d tablet...something to do with earthing.

What version r u using? Try press n hold ur power button as long as possible (about 10 sec) or until d screen turns on.

BTW...i found out only Diceplayer v1.8.2 support hardware decoding on viewcomb 3.2 when playing files (720p mkv) thru samba share (SMB) with subtitle support...other players only support software decoding only. Has anyone tried other 3rd party launchers such as go launcher ex or ADW....hows d performance over honeycomb?

Looks like u either flashed incorrectly or has corrupt system partition. To intall stock froyo...just go to d official viewsonic website Here and follow d instructions (pdf file). Or u can flash d Moddedstock V2 from Here. Install using d same method as d stock one.

BTW...i just flashed my viewpad 10s wifi viewcomb 3.2 build 6.3 to vegacomb 3.2 build 9n + Honey Ice 3.2.7 RC2.1 B + RC2.1 touchscreen patch. Rendering speed is definitely much better esp. on office apps and browser. USB is also stable...can detect all of my thumb drives. battery is around 6 hours for wifi + light gaming...but touchscreen is still sensitive when charging. Wifi connects and reconnects much faster and tablet also felt cooler than before (just my opinion) but HDMI havent tested yet...Defo recommended to upgrade to this version .

sure can flash...d process is straight forward but need to follow steps carefully/accordingly to prevent stuck on boot...1st u need to install Moddedstock v2.exe, then boot to recovery and do full wipe 1st (important!), then install vegacomb 3.2 build 9n.zip. Reboot into vegacomb and setup wifi(so that can boot into CWM) then reboot again into CWM. Lastly, install honey ice 3.2.7 RC2 version B -> then install RC2.1 -> then install RC2.1 patch 1 (optional coz doesnt improve d touchscreen during charging).

If u already installed alot of apps in your current vegacomb/viewcomb...better to do batch backup using titanium backup...then after upgraded to new rom...just do batch restore (need to setup titanium to prevent stuck in d middle of restoration process). if u got enough time and space on ur microsd...better to do Nandroid backup from CWM as well right before u flash d moddedstock rom.

i didnt notice d ram before...but i think its da same size coz honey ice used d same vegacomb 3.2 build 9n as base...but with additional patches and updates only.

it very much depends on rom version as well as hardware. i heard games that runs on honeycomb r still limited...same as apps. also games that run on tegra r also limited and in need of updates. i found out games like reckless racing, reckless getaway and tank riders (all from d same dev) can not be run on this tablet.

Yup...seems that gameloft games hate tegra based tablets. just need to wait for them to update their games to support tegra. But games with tegra supported that r labelled THD like samurai, pinballhd, trial xtreme, riptide, Sprinkle etc run really good on this tablet.

that's d spirit ...but i suggest u try it 1st hand before u buy.
