hey guys, i have a prob o/c my opty 148..

it seems that i can't get higher than 262 x11 on air cooling..

i'm using tccd dddr600, nf4 ultra-d mobo and 700w psu..

any tips on how 2 o/c better? i know that it can go higher than 300 but even 270 will crashed..

did u try lower down ur ldt multiplier???

^ havent tried that.. what do u suggest i should put at the ldt? i c it's only till x5..so i just put auto..

just set it to 3X or 4X
there'll be no (or close to no) performance loss

i u dun wan to see any crashing again put x3....like killjim say both of them give very little diff...more like a no diff for me! i m using x3 also

in case u're wondering, i'm using an E4 chip and set the voltage are 1.5 for the proc..

i'm using xp-90c with delta 5700rpm fan.. my temp is quite ok.. around 40 on idle and 49 on load..

well, my opty @ 2.8ghz is only around 32-35 degrees...
time to change to a new HSF?

last time my opty 165 also cool.. full load at 33-34C and i didnt feel good of it coz of my gatewatch reported temp at 40C at full load..
but now with this opty 170, the temp reported by both smartguardian and thermal probe just 1C difference (currently 36C smartguardian, 37C gatewatch)..

if ur temp is real, than i would like to use the same hsf as urs.. but if i am in ur position, i will definitely check the temp using a third party hardware.. just to make sure..
and fyi, i live in MMU hostel. Ask any MMU students who lives in hostel, surely they will say the room is very hot.. esp my room that facing food court
