Hey guys, what's the highest ram clock you've gotten with an opty, tccd or otherwise?  I gave up on testing my 146 and stuck with 200mhz 2225 and a 2/3 divider for my tccd.

whut?
what was the default timings for ur TCCDs?
i ran at 280 @ 2.5-4-3-7 on mine with 2.66V

My default timings are 2.5-4-4-10 - but my tccd doesn't work at any speed other than 2-2-2-5 200mhz with my opty. No amount of tweaking vcore, vdimm, dividers or timings has helped, not a different bios and not even an Asus A8R. I used to be able to use the default 2.5-4-4-10 at 300mhz with a Venus. So I figure it must be an issue with my opty memory controller and/or my tccd because a pair of BH5's didn't have a problem going above 200.

Guess it's time to go ram hunting.

i had read thru some post in xtremesystem forums that Optys have issues with TCCD. sweat.gif Try and use a 5/6 mem divider, see how it goes.

2225 are the spd settings for my ram at 200mhz - but even then I had to change the other timings to get stability because at all auto it just wouldn't boot.

Actually the 14x series seems to do fine - but it seems like the memory controller on evethe 16x dual core series doesn't like tccd timings. Getting 300mhz to work on an A64 venus with my ram was a nasty experience already. As for the divider, dude, I've tried them all, also with loose timings but they just don't work outside of 200mhz. I think my ram's crippled - I've had them for quite some time so I wouldn't be surprised if all the testing shorted an IC or something. Just hoping maybe it wasn't my ram. whistling.gif

Anyway guys , thanks for the suggestions.

lol just a suggestion. my TCCD's are doing great with my opty.
just that i think i hit the wall with my opty @ 2.85 ghz. and now i wud be lucky to even hit that speed again.

Heh, I'll need to get some new ram first dude. 2x256 just isn't enough for me to go back and use my trusty BH5's, which never fail to bail me out when my TCCD's being a b****. thumbup.gif

I think 2.8Ghz is around the limit on air cooling. I can do that with my opty too but it never passes even superpi and there are too many random errors playing games and stuff.

just stick with the stock HSF and see how ur results are.
if u feel that the temps are too high, then only change.

Eh dude, what's this Biostar Tforce you're using and what divider is that? And I'm surprised new cpu batches can clock so high....
