I am planning to construct a window out of an empty wall to get more natural light into the house and to get a view to the outside. The window is at the first floor. I don't need to open the window as there are other opening for ventilation.
My contractor suggests to use tempered glass for the window, then build awning with roof tiles and metal frame outside to reduce glare from the sun (window is facing north) and cover it from rainwater. Please give opinion for this type of design. The materials suggested is OK? I wonder if wooden frame is better. What if it is without awning. |

For hollow metal support awning, can we conceal fan and light wiring into the hollow metal to install the fan/light? If possible, drill the metal, how can we patch the hole back?

Any contacts for Pergola made by timber and then with clay tiles? Nowadays mostly go with PC, ACP or glass but not many will do timber and clay tiles. Comments? Thanks |
