I need advise for awning design.. (ideas) -will be great if you post the photo-
for my house, i build the awning myself... yes DIY..
i more into classic looking (wood awning) than modern style or steel awning..

Not bad considering you did yourself. Are you in construction line? I'm thinking of doing awning for the back of my house too. Don't know which one is suitable.

roughly calculation.. (for item cost me for front awning)
for roof tiles, wood, wallplugs, paint (wood varnish & jotashield white), bla.. bla.. bla... yawn.gif ( nails, sand paper, putty piller and so on...)
cost me around RM1800-RM2000.. honestly nod.gif

cost for labour - free whistling.gif
cost for installation - free whistling.gif
(since i did it myself hahaha)

usually installation and labour wood work for single storey house around rm1600-rm2000> (may diffrent for 2storey) notworthy.gif
(yes.. cost for hacking, cement the gutter, water proofing.. paint back... bla bla bla until finish..) notworthy.gif

i did mine , roof tiles medium grey in colour, they told me need to paint the roof tiles in the colour i requested....cost me RM 2400....to be honest its quite ok for me the price but the workmanship havent see yet...this weekend they put it up....talking bout design it was normal roof like my father had 10 years ago....kindda curious is there any modern design, pergolas yes it kinda modern, but roof tiles i think its all about the same..slanting type....if possible i will post some pic here after they finish the job....we see how the workmanship

bro.. this is awning.. pergola dont have roof.. pergola usually build for plant (flower) to grow and cover that pergola. err.. no need architect drawing.. hehehe... carpenter (like me) can make it... thumbup.gif

polycarbonate not so heavy... why dont use wraught iron for frame? with iron flower it will be great. smile.gif

My whole house is using polycarbonate. Noisy when raining.

if any good contractor pls recommend....im thinking to do mine as well...coz when its rain i have my autogate but miserable my car porch design from developer only cover my car ass (as i reverse park ) so why i still wet when having autogate....ermmm this is why, doh.gif

Walau few rain drop won't harm you lah.

My car porch same as you. Half cover but without autogate. Rain not heavy , I just go down and open gate. After that have a hot bath.

Mine front will be 6 x 22, than my daughter and spare room maybe 4 x 4 x 2, and front first floor exit to front balcony 4 x 4, and my big master bedroom will be 12 x 4. That will sum up to about 228 Sqft yawn.gif

If RM 65 per sqft, that will be come ~ RM 15k

I need to rob a bank.
