Guys, can you help me with my asus vx7sx..I just bought it last sunday but i find it very slow..even playing games like FM12 also feels very lag. Ive tried running pcmark7 and the result is only 1236. Im using this laptop to do my work mainly on Autocad and it is very lag in acad 2012..any one here owns vx7sx and having the same problem?

and my 3dmark06 score only 5815!!!!!wth is going on??

hm... open up your task manager when ur using autocad, post a pic of your cpu and ram usage?

sounds like gpu prob... maybe the gpu overheat...

can u tell me ur temps when gpu at full load??

run 3dmark + msi afterburner together...

see what u get ... take note of the gpu temp, usage, and clocks

am downloading the msi afterburner..will post afterwards..btw mhen running 3dmark06 the temp is only 65 deg..sounds normal isn't?

when i did 3dmark11.. my temp was around 75-80C

but even at 65 deg (based on log) the score is only 5k...my bios is ver 206..i cant find any latest than that on Asus website..

probably.. ur gpu is still in 2d state...

maybe ur clocks not going up... stuck in 2d mode... thats y u get low temps...

hmmmm... u check power setting dy?? make sure ure in 'high performance mode' and plugged in

u can manually adjust the gpu clocks using msi afterburner... but b4 u do this, just run 3dmark and see if ur gpu usage and gpu clock is at where it shud be

No luck..running msi kombustor at 91-93% gpu yield 78 deg temp..clocks at standard 775/1250/1550..run the 3dmark06 again still getting 5000ish score...

may i suggest a clean installation of a ur graphics driver?? i recommend 285.79 beta driver... the 290 series makes my games hang...

try throttlestop as well, google g53 throttlestop for more information

Forgot to mention..already turn on throttle stop (4.0) as ive already google the solution yesterday..also updated my gpu driver to 285..thats why i try to find the answer here as mr.google also can't help me anymore ahaha

r u running 3dmark06 test at full hd resolution? or 720/768??

Anyone (or did anyone, sorry I havent completely read this thread thoroughly) shared if these highend laptops require additional cooling? ie those cooling pads/stand/fans?

no. unless your room temperature is exceptionally high (30 something degrees C)

the usefulness is in elevating the laptop screen
