So I've got myself a 24" LCD monitor that does 1920x1080. And I've finally got the chance to run the my g53sx at full hd. I've got to say, the crip still performs it's gaming duty admirably even at full hd. I'm not talking abt minecraft or dota at 1080p, im talking dem gpu killer games like metro 2033. I was always under the impression that it won't perform well cuz of the crippled memory bus.

Here are some results. Gaming was done with overclock and resolution at 1080p

The witcher 2 - med settings - some features disabled - avg 30-35 fps
Crysis 1 - med to high - 30 to 40 fps
Crysis 2 - high settings - 35 to 45 fps
Metro 2033 - med+dx11 - 35 to 45fps
battlefield 3 - medium preset - 35 to 40fps

The crip really struggles when I try to push things to all high, as it limited by the smaller bus width. But tune the details down abit to medium, and ull see good fps in ur gaming , as the smaller bus width is able to cope with the moderate flow of data coming from d gpu . And don't forget to overclock it to maximize ur gpus performance

damn brah... now that ive tired gaming at full hd on a bigger screen, anything less than full hd is ugly to me..

It's all good brah. The 560m is good enuf for 3D gaming for all the gpu killer games given the screens low resolution.

Now I'm dreaming about 3D gaming on a big screen at full HD. Probaly have to built a desktop and SLI gpus to handle all that jazz at full hd

gaming when gpu usage at 99% .. 81C ... peaks at 82C...

how much u get??

i play with OC btw...

my clocks r shown in the links in my siggy... just click on the link haha... its stable for the witcher 2.. but not stable for crysis2.. need to downclock abit for crysis 2


i use afterburner !! .... cuz its so nice.. can see temps, gpu usage.. clocks freq.. and can make log file...

but the memory clock is limited to 1625mhz.. if u use nvidia inspector.. u can go more than 1625mhz for the memory clock

fantastic.. did u play crysis 2 with this driver using overclock ??

i c... ure on the 3d version rite?? u shud be able to play all the games out the at high to ultra settings at 1366x768 at stock clocks... since the stock core clock is quite high alredy.. 775mhz..

the reason im asking is, the 258.62 driver made my stable OC unstable in crysis 2 n mafia 2.. screen flashed... clocks were reset to stock... my OC was rock solid on 280.26 ... can game for 2 hours straight wihtout crashing..

hopefully someone here can confirm this..

so now im back to 280.26...

good thing abt 258.62 is that u get fps boost on certain games and battlefield 3 doenst crash// lol

The power button issue very common on d g53sw . Seems like sx also. But ive never encountered it . Touch wood. I'm more concerned abt the brokened power connector pin . Heard alot of stories regarding this on the g53sw over the asusrog forums . It will be a nitemare if that happens

i know its been mentioned b4, but have u tried throttlestop ??

if u starting to get random stuttering/lag while gaming, then use it

if everythiing smooth right now, no need

i have 1...

reason to ur ques is cuz its +1k more expensive and not many ppl are into 3d gaming yet

only get it u r into 3D gaming, 3d movies, 3d pictures

the g53sx 3dversion does 3d gaming really well, mainly becuz of its low resolution

i have a 1366x768 g53sx... and ive tested the full hd g53sx at my local store...

the icons on ur desktop look smaller.. but reading some words off the web browser is abit uncomfortable for me, cuz the words look veryvery small...

imo, if u do alot of reading and ms word editing and all that off the full hd g53sx, it 'might' annoy u abit... but if u use it mostly for gaming and wacthing videos, u shud be fine

the other thing ive noticed is that the 3d g53sx looks abit more brighter compared to the full hd one
