I already stopped using this DiGi prepaid for data, as I was always have to cancel the auto-renewal. Really2 ma fan, and expensive too.I just subscribe the rm15 one week internet 2 weeks ago and I'm not aware that i'll be charged weekly. I thought it's 1 time deal since I need it that time.. You can cancel anytime, but the service will stop immediately, so you may want to wait till the last day and make use of the service in the meantime. In your case, you need to unsuscribe by midnight tomorrow, 01 March. To unsubscribe, dial *116# and choose the option to subscribe the same plan, then the reply will tell you you're already on it and ask if you want to unsubscribe. |

Let me start by saying I'm a DIGI Smart plan user
Having said that, Maxis just released new internet plans with no call commitments. Considering the slight extra only, it's pretty tempting to hop over now, considering they have way better coverage. Digi better respond soon |

Hi,
I had subscribed for Digi autodebit via credit card with the rebate of RM10. If I change my credit card for the autodebit, would I entitle to RM10 or RM5 rebate? |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Mar 1 2012, 08:21 PM) It's Internet Value Plan. For ppl who you know, use the internets instead of SMS. (SMS is real occasional for me, 5 sen / 15 sen won't make a huge impact) And it's 5 sen to maxis. Digi SMART plan is 10 to any operator. Averaging it out assuming you have friends on both networks, cost will be the same |

estimated lost sms revenue worldwide by telcos in 2011 due to alternative messaging channels like whatsapp, facebook and etc is USD13.9 billion
in my opinion, anyone who subscribes to a data plan should get free sms or at least sms at a much lower rate telcos need to embrace the change and realise sms charges need to come down in this day and age, instead of trying to charge more to make up the losses data is obviously the modern day revenue driver just my opinion ba This post has been edited by dgboy: Mar 1 2012, 08:40 PM |

(plan is catered to such users anyways). Considering to hop over this weekend actually |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Mar 1 2012, 08:48 PM) best of luck with your move, do remember that Maxis will charge if you over quota whereas DiGi strangle at no extra cost Yeah I'm aware. 1.5GB is plenty though on a mobile device, but if I go for the 3.5GB one definitely no problems there btw, i only use prepaid most of my sms are free or 1 sen only i'm ok with that price But digi caps your speed down to 5kbps, which is quite frankly, just ridiculous |

If I really needed data on my hp every day, I'd use DiGi Prepaid Internet Limited Edition data sim and carry a separate toy phone for calls and smsBut digi caps your speed down to 5kbps, which is quite frankly, just ridiculous Topup RM100 for 100 days of internet, 3GB per month, 3G speed good enough for me Maxis postpaid plan you mentioned is RM75 per month for 3.5GB, DiGi Prepaid Internet LE RM28-31 per month for 3GB This post has been edited by dgboy: Mar 1 2012, 09:47 PM |

Not a fan of slower speeds and carrying dummy phone around |

Not a fan of slower speeds and carrying dummy phone around i'm using now on my laptop as i type this although not superfast, DiGi is very stable and consistent if you in a good signal area but agreed Maxis is faster and have more good signal area, at a price |

QUOTE(dgboy @ Mar 1 2012, 10:42 PM) yes, speed is around 340kbps Well yeah, for regular forum browsing it's fine.i'm using now on my laptop as i type this although not superfast, DiGi is very stable and consistent if you in a good signal area but agreed Maxis is faster and have more good signal area, at a price And that's the problem. If you're in good area. My job puts me at different clients at different times, and I've had such random coverage. Even when travelling in KL area from one place to another, line cuts off alot in certain areas. Not to mention recently they're upgrading works are not helping make ppl happy. I've used digi for many many years (more than 10 now), and you pay for what you get. But with Maxis' new plan, the pricing is similar, which is not right. Digi's poorer coverage (ignoring even speed) is meant to be offset with the cheaper price. And yes, the Internet Lite plan can work for you, but we need to compare apples with apples. Direct competitor is SMART plan 48/68. Extra 2 bucks (or same price if contract 12 months) is more than worth it for the significantly better coverage (and this is ignoring the extra space and extra capacity). A little more steep on the 75 bucks one (7 bucks difference), but the 7 bucks is justified via 500 extra MBs and significantly better speeds and better coverage. I've been loyal to Digi and supported them, but this is very frustrating. Don't see them responding also (I've been told Maxis' plan has been out for a week or so) |

Since i never do postpaid, i don't need to worry about all the choices and small print. Whichever plan you choose, the bill going to be more than whatever number the telco quotes due to contract stamp fee, service tax, itemised bil, clip, voicemail tax and etc. I've been with DiGi prepaid for 12 years and they still have some good deals. But they are not the same company that I used to admire so much for their innovation. Like you said other telcos have caught up and become more competitive. I'm waiting for Umobile to buy into DiGi and share 4G network in the future. Those two have some complementary features and would make a mighty alliance if you ask me. We'll see what happens. Meanwhile many DiGi users and staff have voted with their feet.

And they've gotta figure that and react to market as well.Guess we'll have to see how things go. But as of now, there's a definite pricing disparity Haha I was on prepaid Digi prior to being on postpaid actually |
