LOL so basically 1 Gb from the 2Gb allocation is for the 3 apps?
Aiyark I thought it is 2Gb allowance, to use it any way we choose =p

I don't have a Twitter a/c, seldom on FB, and only have a few groups in WhatsApp..
So am not finding the allocation suits my need.

Anyway, should I need to resume my speed back to normal, is it possible?
*
yeap. resume what speed? I don't quite get it. If you're talking bout allocating the other 1gb for internet surfing then you're out of luck

sifu here, pls guide me or show me the correct place. I just reloaded RM 10 for my dad's prepaid number and within 30 min a total of RM 9 was deducted (3 times). the sms content has something about "surfto.mobi..."
this number is important for him, cant just change to new number
*
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1841061

tl;dr, if the number is 6xxxx or 3xxxx, you can try the steps given at that link. Copy down the number for that sms(surfto.mobi....) and send "STOP ALL" to <the number that with the surfto.mobi>

Will it automatically go into Maxis coverage or do we have to manually change the network?

Last 2 times when my U Mobile line was bad, I just went on to use another phone with a Maxis line (my primary phone) in it without any problem.

Is it only the 2G network that's covered by Maxis, or also the 3G?
*
2G is solely covered by Maxis because U Mobile is not building infra for it, while for 3G, it depends on the area, if that area is covered by U Mobile then U Mobile it is, if not then it will be covered by Maxis 3G

5mbps to 33mbps.... depends on ur area and the spectrum u getting.
I at sg wang area and getting 1800mhz only getting 7mbps DL, maybe due to the site coverage coverred too much users, penetrate till inside building.
But 7mbps is more than enough for a normal user like me smile.gif
*
agreed, for normal surfing 7mbps is a lot. now I'm wondering of whether to put my digi sim to a 4g phone or not laugh.gif

Haha, still depends on your area 3G... some places 3G cant even move at all... Hence need to attach to 4G...
If your DG 3G speed is smooth (5mbps above), u can stay happily at 3G  laugh.gif
*
yeah, my issue is that digi's 3g is dodgy at a lot of places shakehead.gif and I heard that digi's 4g has the "widest coverage" atm laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Hmm.. I can see DiGi is Malaysia's Widest 4G LTE Network... No? Maybe still fine tuning...

I say "widest" because Maxis has just overtook it laugh.gif http://www.lowyat.net/2015/80980/maxis-sna...ider-from-digi/

but anyway, these are just numbers, it still won't do if there's no coverage at your area sweat.gif

I redeemed it Sat morning but it conflicted with my free 1.2gb 50 days which continued to be deducted... so the whole 500mb expired untouched this morning.

yeah, some members at cari said that too. however my data plan is not from the reload grant so I get to use it(although I've just used 200mb or so)

Need some feedback on which plan to go for. Im a heavy data user, a few years back i used streamyx but i stop the subscription since the time i spent at home is quite limited because of my job.

I work as an auditor hence move from one client to another on a regular basis. Recently got myself a dual sim phone which now im surveying a combination of data plan that can give me the best data quota. Need your input on this.

Currently have digi family plan for phone call, maxis poweruser broadband for data. And recently got myself the maxis magic sim. Here are some of the combination if i were to only use 2 plans. Using unifi cost as threshold since i view it as a mobile version of the fixed line for my usage

1) magic sim+ maxis broadband.
I live in bandar baru bangi and celcom connection seems pretty good here. So the rm 25 magic sim covers the heavy download part. While the rm 158 12 gb maxis broadband covers the peak period data when im working. The pros of this combo seems to be good coverage for network. Because from my googling, it seems that maxis and celcom have the widest coverage for 3g or 4g. I can also opt for cheaper maxis data so that i can alocate more peak data for the magic sim so that the two network are more or less balance outin term of peak data. The cons seems to be that peak period data quota is not the best and it is the most expensive combo. The offpeak data for maxis also will go to waste sometimes

2) magic sim rm58+digi 20gb quota all day long.
Magic sim covers the heavy lifting and digi covers peak period data. Pros. If i reload the rm58 magic sim + the digi, it will give me decent peak data quota. Cons: people said digi dont have decent coverage. Not sure how true is that. At least in kl, selangor, and sungai petani, the speed is acceptable. Theoretically, magic sim could cover when digi network are not good.

3) magic sim only
For the price of the maxis rm 158 plan, i could just keep toping up the magic sim which give similiar peak data quota but unlimited offpeak data. Hence the convenience of 1 telco. But if the telco fail in certain place than theres nothing much i can do.

Which combo should i take? Personally i like the second option the most. Im open to other ideas too
*
how many gb of data do you need in the peak period? the 2nd option is not good because DiGi's 20gb(I assume you're talking about the Postpaid Broadband 85) has 5gb all day + 15gb off peak, so in theory you only have 5gb from DiGi

Regardless, here is one combo that you can consider as well.

4. UMobile P70 + Magic SIM 58 = 11gb peak period + unlimited free calls + unlimited 1-7am data = 128
U Mobile P70 has 7gb quota + unlimited free calls, so it could lift off some of your call costs too. But coverage is an issue though.

Personally I think #1(priciest) and #4 (value for money) would be the better choice, your call though smile.gif

Your data usage is above 10gb which makes choices a lot lesser.

If you're using Android, you can download Opera Max to bring down your bandwidth usage smile.gif

Hi! Thanks for the prompt reply again. Appreciate it.  smile.gif

Erm .. since you sounded like a telco guru ... can I check something with you?

What do you think about the current Tune Talk which giving so much goodies? RM50 topup free RM20 air time seems really interesting ...    drool.gif

Honestly, I am still deciding between Digi and Tune Talk. Since you are the subject matter expert, care to shed some light on this? Which telco offers a better deal in terms of the package, overall service, etc, etc ...  tongue.gif

Mind telling your usage? is 1gb data enough? how many calls and sms do you make
