Bro..asking your advice...how i can control the apps that running background..currently start to uninstall a few apps because in time my free ram drop to 30 mb LOL
*
actually there is no point in killing tasks in Android, as it already comes with Low Memory Killer.

The free RAM that you see will be sufficient for apps because some apps that are cached will be kicked out once you launch apps.

In fact, there might be like 100MB or more free RAM available, just that Android is caching it for standby in case you relaunch your apps.

Agree. using advance task killer will only cause ur battery to drain quick. even u kill the task, a few seconds later it will run again on background. it is just like stand by and running services for the apps.

change input method to DioPen Chinese IME or download google pinyin

Google Pinyin is good, but GoKeyboard is awesome when it comes to typing in pinyin with prediction.

Again, dont worry too much about not much free memory since OS will take care of it for us. But if you still would like to free up more RAM, here is a tips on how to free more memory:

No danger
1) Go to setting, Running services
- Here is list of stuff that always running in background
- You will have widget and stuff
- Identify widget that you dont use, remove it from your Home screen.

Not for novice user
2) In the same Running list, you may see Map, etc which you know you will not use, to really kill it, do this:
- Use a Terminal Emulator or ADB shell
- List all packages
CODE
pm list packages

- Disable package you dont like, for example Google Map (always running in background duh!)
CODE
pm disable com.google.android.apps.maps

This will permanently disable the App, you cant even see it anymore, no more using your precious RAM, until you enable it back:
CODE
pm enable com.google.android.apps.maps

Personally, I like having those widget in my home screen. I didn't disable any of them. What's the point of having a powerful handphone if you cannot use some fancy stuff? cool.gif

Jus brought SGW from LYN user, collect at TS there by yesterday wink.gif
The seller told me will register to 2 year SME within 2 weeks...
I just wonder does it need any warranty card to fill up or else to verify my sgw?

If you ever use Flipboard before, you will know how awesome it's that app, problem is, that is only for iOS. Google has something similar just launched - Google Currents

Not as fun to use as Flipboard, but it's still better than browser. Here is Google Current in my SGW (*proud)

try to use "gl to sd" no need patch, just follow the instruction and move the corresponding folder to the external sd.. i think should work for all the gameloft games and some other games if they stored data at the same folder as gameloft... like "blood and glory"

if you dont want to mess with adb commands, you can also use some apps from the market to disable the apps but you need to root your device first.

Antek AppManager - free, add supported
Titanium Backup - $$

or, if you are rooted and you want to do it manually, you can use any filemanager that can use root access to see system/app folder

you can manually rename / remove / backup *.apk and *.odex files for apps that you don't need.

i suggest you backup these files to another folder, on your mem card for e.g.

backing up is a better option since you can restore files if you need some apps or you remove some important files and Android starts FC'ing.

Android Market has that 10 cent promotion and I bought ADW Launcher EX. I must say, the difference between ADW Launcher & ADW Launcher EX is like the Land and Sky. There' way much more settings to play around with and it's just beautiful. I suggest anyone who fancies animation to get it. If you're not a fan of animations and need battery life to last, I suggest you just either use normal Android Launcher or get the ADW Launcher EX but set it under No Animations smile.gif
