QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Nov 28 2011, 06:38 PM) if i recall correctly samsung devices have this counter so even if u unroot they can tell that you've rooted... i guess this is only valid if u flash your rom.there is no way sammy gonna be able to detect my root... i actually downloaded the whole Android source code, compile it over night to produce the objects file i need, all just becoz i want to compile ZergRush.c by myself. ZergRush (which is based on Gingerbreak btw) is the actual exploit that manage to escalate my ADB shell into a root shell. Once you get a root shell, it's game over. Most Super-one-click, etc are using exploit like this to get a root shell, then, they will automatically install busybox, mount /system as RW, and replace the original "su". Once done, they will normally install Superuser.apk (the interface part which handle root request). it turns out that, u dont need many of those steps. so, if u know what u r doing, u can replace back everything, as if it never happen. Root? What root? |

QUOTE(SuperbSuperMan @ Nov 29 2011, 12:08 PM) CPU wise, SGW has 1.4Ghz compares to 1Ghz in Ray...Screen wise, I think Ray is just a bit too small for gaming... Price wise, SGW is cheaper... But if u like small phone, rarely play game (or like to play game on small screen?)... Ray is pretty cool too... |

QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Nov 30 2011, 01:53 AM) talk abt alarm, meego is the only alternative that still can alarm-on by itself even if you turned off the device i m _still_ a Nokia fan... switching to Android also made me compare between my previous 5800... there are some stuff in Nokia that is still better than Android. for one, Nokia phone is so durable, great basic phone features such as never drop any call, etc... time will tell if i m moving back to Nokia, i like Lumia 800 so much! well i know it's inappropriate to say it here, but if only Elop never declare to kill off Meego,it's indeed a powerful platform that could rival ios or android i myself a nokia fan,now ended up buying an android phone, which is the biggest and saddest betrayal i ever made,it feels like i killed a person or something like dat Orz gotta blame that galaxy w pricing too great though :/ ![]() |

QUOTE(Amroth @ Nov 30 2011, 02:02 AM) 1) ICS updates for Galaxy W I am not worry about ICS because with or without official release, there will be ICS for Galaxy W. I m going for ICS for sure due to its hardware acceleration...» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « For those who wants to buy it, just do it. It works. It's a good price for the performance you get. This is my 3rd phone this year. So I wish you all the best -amroth Nice review. |

by any chance, did u move any widget (using app2sd or whatever) to sd card?
reason i ask is, android mount sd card almost towards end of booting sequence... so, widget should not go to sd card... thats why it's not allow by default... Added on December 1, 2011, 1:23 pmduno what else to play with SGW liao... This post has been edited by cowithgun: Dec 1 2011, 01:23 PM |

QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Dec 1 2011, 01:27 PM) I've moved everything to sdcard, but my widgets don't seem to have problem o.o everything? including widget? how u do it?btw.. how can I "completely" move my apps to sdcard storage? Now seems like moving the "shortcut" of any apps to sdcard nia, cuz it's only few MB while the those apps size are much bigger than that D: to completely move an app, u just need to softlink /data/data/com.your.app into /sdcard/external_sd/Android/com.your.app you see, the actual app data is stored in /data/ (and the apk in /data/app which u can moved using Manage app) for example, to move completely move Blood and Glory to sdcard, you softlink this: CODE ln -s /data/data/com.glu.gladiator /sdcard/external_sd/whatever/com.glu.gladiator of coz, u need root FREE YOUR PHONE! QUOTE(karakuratown89 @ Dec 1 2011, 03:22 PM) hi all... mount bind != vold.fstab!hv a question...which one is better: i) the mount bind thing with the vold.fstab file, or ii) the soft link thing? oh, and which one is easier to do? sorry...noob here - mount bind, u can combine certain folder in internal sd to external sd, thus, allow u to extend ur storage to external sd - vold.fstab = a file which allow u to swap the mount point so, external sd card now mount to /sdcard and internal sd (small storage) stored as /sdcard/external_sd o this method has some side effect, because when u use the internal function (App manager) to move app to SD Card, your app will be moved to ur /sdcard/external_sd which is now a small storage.. so, if u use this, avoid move to sd... - soft link = easiest = similar to mount bind, can only be done if you have EXT3/4 partition. your internal sd is vFAT, so, u cannot link /sdcard to /sdcard/external_sd ... but u still can link /data to anything else since / is EXT4... sorry if this is confusing, duno how to make it easier to un... |

Among other things, rooting, u can play game that only run on tegra... extend your limited internal sd, download app which resticted only in US (google map, free game from gameloft, etc), full backup, hack game by changing value in saved data, make high end games smoother by reducing texture size, etc, underclock to conserve baterry, check and prevent certain permission, block ads, automate certain task like if connect to this specific wifi then sync certain folder, etc,
