Got into some weird glitch just now. The GNex Roboto font went corrupt, instead of alphabets, its reolaced by weird ASCII caharacters and shaded box of greys.
Went into Display, turned the Font to Small, the glitch went away. Turn it back to Normal, it came back. Rebooted, still there. Then noticed the UMobile signal flickering between no signal, 2G and 3G. Turned off GNex, took out the sim. Turned phone on without SIM, font went back to normal. WTF!? Ditched UMobile now, that network has problem auto-switching between its 2G and 3G network, resulting in often the phone simply losing all signals and says "Emergency calls only" notification. Now using Maxis iPad data package with normal size sim. |

When it works, it works flawlessly, when it don't, the call volume become so low, you can't hear what he says at all. =/ So far has the glitch returned after switching to Maxis? |

Frankly there are other glitches too ... such as inserting wrong associated email address from the contact list and the spelling recommendation is not working all of the time.not the first bad Umobile feedback I've gotten so far, my friend's call quality on Umobile has some problem too. QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Dec 8 2011, 06:49 PM) Im confused which to get. S2 or Gnexus? lol less popular also can, weird I like the S2 because of its good camera and cheaper ofcourse. I like the Gnexus because its nice screen and less popular. I think only thing tht can help me decide is the battery life. Any GNexus own both S2 and Gnexus? (S2 batt is very bad) Or maybe compare it with Iphone4? s2 better camera ?? i don't think so lor |

Added on December 8, 2011, 10:18 pmFrankly watching videos after videos of it does not give due credit to the device..the experience of holding it in your hands and using it , how seamless the os is on the device is out of this world.it's exactly like string said like iOS on iphone ics is on nexus...fits like a glove This post has been edited by hussain: Dec 8 2011, 10:18 PM |

QUOTE(phantomash @ Dec 8 2011, 07:49 PM) that's a really weird glitch, something to do with signal? I think someone mentioned about UMobile not having a proper 2G network and having to fall back to Celcom's network coverage, but still marked as UMobile 2G, when that happens. Auto-switching didnt happen and the phone just loops around until it gets back to strong 3G coverage.not the first bad Umobile feedback I've gotten so far, my friend's call quality on Umobile has some problem too. When it works, it works flawlessly, when it don't, the call volume become so low, you can't hear what he says at all. =/ So far has the glitch returned after switching to Maxis? I'm very impressed with Maxis, using tgeir iPad data package now. The network auto-switches between HSDPA, 3G and EDGE. Even on EDGE, it's pretty fast. Speedtest around 5.8Mbps on HSDPA. With 3.5GB data, up to 7.2Mbps, perfect companion for the GNex. No data overages too on the iPad data package, just throttled back, but I'm pretty sure it's plenty. QUOTE(hussain @ Dec 8 2011, 10:08 PM) Hi guys just got my nexus...so happy,ts please put me in the list The very first thing that got me impressed was the snappiness. I've been lamenting the lagginess as one of the major reason why I couldn't consider an Android device, but this GNex proven me wrong.i love the Honeycomb design stylings myself am a Tron fan, plus it's minimalistic too. The rest are icing on a very delicious cake. What apps could you run successfully on Nexus as I know quite a lot of apps are still not compatible with ICS just yet.

For me , it's practically everything I had on my Note I can run it on the GNex. I did not install any launcher or launcher themes, coz I wanna keep the GNex look.
Titanium Backup works, ROM Manager works. CWM works. Root Explorer works. Alternative browsers works. Games are the ones probably with less compatibility, but the important ones I have in my account like Shadowgun, Riptide 3D, Samurai 2: Vengeance and so forth works. |

QUOTE(Lazyboy @ Dec 9 2011, 12:34 AM) Affirmative. It's the first thing I did. Unlocked the boot loader and root. Just root though, no installation of whatever customized ROMs like Android Revolution HD or anything. I have enough headaches with my GNote already. |

One question here, do the games look weird on GNex high resolution screen? Games like doodle jump
Or just renders fine on 720 resolution? |
