First confirmed by timleerj. Then I tested with the Celcom sim card I got with the Note, turned the network to 2G/Edge and switch data connection vigorously from Edge to Wifi back and forth. Nothing. Then brought another phone, make a call while the Nexus is in Edge/2G. Nothing as well. Did this 5 times in succession in each case.

And so snappy! Ive taxed this by launching Twitter, Facebook, DICE player, 5 tabs of web browsers, playinf music on "3" oon the background,  and still it runs smooth like butter! Unbelievable!

Either that, or Google has some deep software-hardware optimization with the Nexus, that I was seriously doing a double take, am i using an Android device or an iOS device. I'm grown used to the snappiness of my iPhone4S, and now I dare say that the Nexus matches it in every way. Bravo, Google! I never thought there would come a time when I can claim an Android device as snappy as an iOS device, but Google has done it with the Nexus!

Android on Nexus is about as "in house" as iOS on iPhone gets.

The Nexus is developed by a team consisting members from Google, a hardware manufacturer (Samsung), and chipmaker (TI). The GNex is built to run ICS, this is about as good as it gets in terms of software + hardware integration on Android.

Also, don't forget that iOS is just another operating system. Similarly to Android, it is possible to port iOS to other device too, except that it is close source.

I guess it does stay on as long as it is on the dock?

web browser: i prefer nexus not because it's really good, but note is poor in this. text reflow in note is not working and that is really frustrating..

GSM Arena should called Google Galaxy Nexus or just Galaxy Nexus without the manufacturer name. Same with Google One and Nexus S without HTC or Samsung name infront of it o_O

Hiyo, taiko, does the name really matters? That is for Google and Samsung to worry about. I think unofficially we over in this thread have already short termed it "GNex. Most important is when its officially coming here la

Yeah since Maxis is lowering the price for Nexus S, it is a sign that they will be bringing GNex but when? I believe it wont be around the 16 Dec range since IP4S is going to be launched then and i doubt they will let GNex affect the sales of IP4S. My best estimation is early Jan, after the IP4S hype ends and if they smart, launch it 2-3 weeks before CNY to generate better sales.

If they launch it in Feb, then by that time people will be hyping over SGS3 and the sales of GNex will be like Nexus S last year. Lets see how smart are those Telco sales people.....
